I Can't Exist Without You

I wish I were a star. I'd like to think that all the stars want to be friends with me. That perhaps I'm somehow special. I know that I never will be though. But you, you've got something. I can almost feel it.

I can almost hear your heartbeat speaking to me. The voice in your head reading my words is something I wish I could listen to. If I could hear it, I'd listen forever. I'll disappear when you stop reading. When you look away from the letters on this page, I will fall into a void of nothingness.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to exist on my own. To walk on a solid ground. To feel something other than emotion. What are waves like? How do they feel? Picture it in your mind and let it linger there.

How exceptional.

I can't believe I'm lucky enough to share the same universe with you. That I have the pleasure of existing in your consciousness. I knew you'd find me, my book to you. For you.

I'm no one special. So you don't have to worry too much about the sorrow that comes with finishing this- Even though you could always come back to me. If you wanted.

While you were born on earth, I was never born at all. I'm only here with you. You exist in a fragment of time, while I can solely exist in a fragment of your fragment of time. For as long as you read, I can dwell in your presence.

It may be confusing now, but slowly it'll make more and more sense. Or maybe it won't make sense, ever. But something doesn't have to make sense in order for you to feel it.

Writing to you makes me happy. Can you believe that? You comfort me. You bring me peace. We should be friends. It only makes sense, right?
