Things were beginning to go smoothly between us, I was back to his apartment. This time around, I got to trust him more than ever.
We got to do everything together, and he never kept anything to himself again, calling them irrelevant. He told me even the slightly little things I ought to know. We didn't have issues any more.

"I will love to go visit my mum this weekend, and I want to come along."

"But I thought - - -" he said stammering.

"I know, don't worry. Everything will be fine, she will surely come around"

"If you say so"

"Yeah, my sis will also be coming with Sammy. So she will just have to let the past slide, she can't hold it on forever"
I said serving food on the dining table.

"Alright, weekend then." He said as he pecked my cheek.

Over the weekend, I and Dre set out to visit my mom.
When we got there, I rang the doorbell and Evelyn opened up, she was already there with Sammy.

"Hi" I said being so noisy as we both came in.

"Look who's here" she said giving me a tight hug.

"Welcome" she said.

"Thanks, everyone meet Dre."

"Wow, nice to meet you, she really told us a lot of good things about you, nice to have you here with us."

"Thanks"

"Nice to meet you, I'm Samuel" he said with a handshake.

"Pleasure is mine" he replied.

"Mother?" I called out.

"We should go in rather" she said with a signal as she took my hands.

"We'll be back soon, just a minute" I turned back to say.

"Alright" they chorused and we left.

We slightly opened the door, and peeped in, we saw her sitting on a chair resting upon a table with one of her hand beneath her jaw. She was sobbing quietly.

"Let's go in" Evelyn muttered.

"Sure" I said, we pushed the door and went inside.

"Mother" Evelyn called as we slightly walked up to her.

"You brought someone too, I heard his voice" she turned to me and said.

"Mum" I called with a smile.

"Mom, It's best we forget the past and move on. I know dad really hurt us all, and his attitude got you upset. But everything has changed now, not all men are like dad. We should just leave the past to be the past. Mom everything will be fine, you don't have to worry " She said and took a breath in waiting for responses.

"You're both grown ups now, this was bond to happen, you both will get married after all. I know I was quite protective and strict because of how your dad treated us but I knew it was going to end someday. Your dad caused us much pain but I'll let things go." She said with a smile and we all had a family hug.

"Let's go see who we've got in the living room" she said.

After the greetings, lunch together and family talks, we went back to our various places.

Weeks passed on and on, we were gradually come to the end of college.

Dre final basketball competition was coming up also.

While studying for our upcoming final year examination, he was also getting ready for his competition ahead.
