Supposed to meet

(Forty nine hours. That's how long it's been since the first notice about how it's looking like for Erin. Last things Jay and the team remember being told, is the piece of glass Tyrone stabbed her with, cut through her skin very deeply and she will be in severe discomfort because of its placing, especially when she is stitched up and healing)

(Jay sat in one of the chairs, his hands in his hair as he contemplated the last two hours. If he just stayed at the hotel, or snuck her with them...she wouldn't be in the hospital. But at the same time, Tyrone is dead and that's because of Erin. Not to blame her, but instead of honoring her for putting her life on the line to protect innocent people in Chicago who go to that manor. It's a blessing in disguise)

R<"Jay?(he called out, placing his hand on his shoulder),hey man"

J<"hey"

(Adam looked at him sincerely, pouting for his friend)

R<"been trying to get your attention for the last two minutes"

J<"sorry...I just, my heads somewhere else"(he said, pushing himself to a straighter position and looking at Adam)

R<"I get it. I mean I don't, but I know why you wouldn't be thinking clearly"

J<"I just keep thinking to myself, if we brought her with us...she wouldn't be here. But if she did, then he wouldn't be dead"

R<"yeah. Sometimes there's things that you just need to trust the process. It kills me not knowing how she's doing, or when we saw her like that...but she's a strong person. We've all known her much longer than you have, and it's gonna be a long road, but she'll get better"

J<"I believe that to, it's just that fact that I love her man. I never told her how she truly means to me and how I need her. I mean we've traded 'I love you's', but we never sat down and told each other how much we meant to each other,(he said, turning his head. After thinking for a second he shook his head),man..what if she doesn't wanna see me anymore"!

R<"why would you think that"?

J<"cause I should've stayed! I should've went against Voights orders and taken her with us. I left her and now she's in the hospital"

R<"don't do that to yourself man,(he turned in his chair to face him),the outcome sucks, but do you realize how much people she protected by putting herself in harms way...a lot. And I'm sure that's how she would rationalize it"

J<"I don't know. I wish I can just know how she feels"

R<"she loves you jay. This isn't going to change that"

(Jay looked at Adam and nodded, watching his facial expression change when he saw Will walking out. Jay turned his head and stood up fast, letting out a breathe)

Ol<"how is she"?(he asked, stepping forward next to the team)

W<"she's doing good. She did lose a lot of blood but we got it restored. She had to have a total of thirty seven stitches due to how deep the wound on her side was, but she'll heal just fine. Absolutely no lifting anything over ten pounds, and no activity that puts tension on her abdomen"

B<"oh thank god. Is she awake"?

W<"yes. She didn't need to be put under for any procedure, but we did have to up her pain meds because of the piece of glass, the area will be affected"

J<"but she's okay"?

W<"yup. She's in the clear"

An<"thank you Will"

W<"no problem,(he gave them a smile and patted Jays shoulder),Excuse me"

(Jay stepped aside and watched his brother attend to another patient, letting out a sigh before turning back towards the team)
