You just had to, its either if you felt sad, mad or unexplained to. Runner or not, ALL Gladers would be mad and disappionted with your unthinking behavior. Thats where you put it out there by screaming or crying aloud, didnt care if Grievers heard you.
That place helped you get together and made you feel better by the minute. It helped you think straight and get all your thoughts together by just looking out in the blue.
After all the thinking you felt bad and regretful for running in and had to go back wether you liked it or not. You had to explain to the other Gladers why you ran into the Maze.
