"Yeah, sure, hun! I’m on my way now!" She said into the phone, and I heard the shuffling noise of her getting ready in the background.
"Thanks, bye," I said, grateful I had friends as great as her.
I hung up and had just put my phone back in my pocket when I heard a shattering noise from above, and glass rained down on me. I quickly pulled open the door to the lobby and ran in. The window was from Jimmy's apartment.
Julia's POV-
It was almost time for the sun to come up as I stood in the doorway, just staring out. Staring at Caity as she sat on the porch on the sun chair, stiff like a statue, like she was in a trance. She was in her shorts and a tank top, but regardless of the hot California weather and sun, she was pale and had goose bumps. Her eyes held the same lifeless expression as Kimmy's when she wakes up from a nightmare.
"Caity?" I asked, cautiously approaching her. She didn’t respond. In fact, she acted as if she didn’t even hear me, so I reached out to touch her shoulder. Her hand snapped up to mine and locked firmly around my wrist, her touch burning my skin and nails digging in deep enough to cause me to wince.
"C-Caity?" I said again, now scared about what was going on. What is going on? "That hurts!" I told her, hoping she would release me.
"Shhhhh, child," she hissed, eyes staring at me causing me to freeze with fear. Her eyes, they were glowing red. "I only cause you a small fraction of the pain your friend causes us. Now, where is Kimberly?" She growled, eyes flashing from the bright red to black as if they were on fire.
"I-I don’t know!" I stammered.
"Lies! Lies are what you speak! As generations before and generations to come, you speak of lies! Lies!" She shrieked, clutching my wrist tighter and tighter. Her body began convulsing. I heard a snap and a sharp pain shot up my arm, my skin boiled where she gripped, and I felt tears roll down my face.
"Julia! Caity!" Midge called frantically from the door, running to us. She tried pulling me away from Caity's grip, but Caity immediately retracted from her touch, collapsing on the cement floor, body convulsing as if she had no control.
"Caity!" Midge cried, kneeled down next to her while I stood there, taking in my injuries with blurry eyes. Her hand print burned into my skin, bloody and blackened skin showed and my wrist was bend at an odd angle.
"Caity, no, no, no, no, don't go, don’t leave us!" Midge cried, as I spotted Caity's body go limp, stopping everything completely.
"Julia, we have to get help! Julia, watch out!" Midge shouted, and then I felt something collide with my head, my world fading to black.
Kimmy's POV-
I raced into Jimmy's apartment, finding the door standing wide open, curtains flying in a frenzy from the broken window. The lights were off and it smelled strongly of smoke. I raced in and to his bedroom, kicking open the door, only to be met by pitch black. I whispered his name, "Jimmy?"
I was left hearing nothing but silence, until I heard a glass shatter next to my head. Did he throw something at me?!?! "Jimmy, did you throw something at me?" I asked.
Nothing.
That is, until I saw bright red glowing eyes in the corner of the room. I slowly backed up, only to stop because of something blocking me, preventing me from moving any further. I slowly turned around and met the face of something that made my blood freeze in my veins, made me freeze.
The man from my nightmare: the boy.
Zack's POV-
After Brian stormed out of Shawn's house, I was in my car chasing after him. My phone started ringing and I looked at the screen to see it was an unknown number. "Hello?" I answered questioningly.
