"All the girls have been wondering what's up, too," she continues, making me uncomfortable about where this conversation was heading.

"They're actually wondering?" Uenoyama asks this random girl.

"Yup, I mean, Sato-kun's pretty hot, y'know?" she says, immediately making me done with the conversation. I quietly push back my chair and grab my snare and head to leave the classroom, briefly catching the eyes of the three people talking. I walk through the door and walk to the gym, wanting to go into the stairwell, not noticing Mafuyu approaching the room.

'Calm down, it's fine. It's fine,' I repeated to myself in my head as I walk into the stairwell, very agitated at the girl and her words. I don't know if it is only me, but I absolutely hate it when people talk about others like they are an object. Doesn't matter who they are or what gender they identify as, when I hear them objectifying someone, I get angry. However, for some reason, I don't mind the words 'cute' or 'attractive' when being used to describe someone. Maybe because they can be used to describe someone's personality, but I think my point still stands.

I sit down on the railing in my normal spot and clench my fists, trying to not let my emotions blow up anymore, as tears start to prickle my eyes. "She wasn't even calling me hot? Why do I care?" I question out loud as I think through my emotions. 'Mafuyu's your friend. And he is attractive, but she only meant on the outside, when I mean on the inside as well,' I think as I feel a single teardrop fall from my right eye.

"Aha," I half-laugh, half sigh, as I wipe away the tear. "What's it like being the weakest link in the chain? I say to myself, almost making more tears fall from my eyes until I see both Mafuyu and Uenoyama walk into the stairwell. Quickly, I rub my eyes and put on a fake smile, not wanting them to worry about me.

"H-hey guys. What's up?" I ask, cursing myself for stuttering. They just look at me with concern in their eyes, which makes me look towards the window, not wanting to see their pitying eyes.

"Y/n-chan," Mafuyu quietly says, making me look back at him, staring into his eyes, which now hold nothing but compassion, making me feel guilty for looking away. "Is there anything wrong?" he sincerely asks making the tears come back to my eyes. I remain silent, but get off the railing and walk over to him. As I approach him, he doesn't back up, making me sigh a breath of relief. I suddenly wrap my arms around him, pulling him into a hug, surprising both boys.

"I-I... I just need a hug," I tell him, slightly burying my face into his shoulder, but still keeping the tears in. After a few moments, I feel arms wrap around me and I feel my spirits slightly lift. His hug feels warm and comforting, even if he didn't know what happened to make me like this. I pull away from him and look at Uenoyama, who looks just as concerned. Slowly I walk towards him and he flinches, expecting me to give him a hug. However, instead of a hug, I slap him on the back of the head and walk back to my spot on the railing.

"What was that for?" he yells at me while holding the back of his head. I slightly laugh at his shocked and angry face as he slightly groans in pain.

"Next time you talk about me, maybe make sure I'm not sitting right beside you," I scold him as I teasingly stick my tongue out.

He rolled his eyes and slightly huffed in annoyance before turning to Mafuyu. "Whatever, let's start," he tells him while sitting down and pulling out his guitar. Mafuyu simply nods and follows Uenoyama's lead.

I smile while watching them set up, no hint of sadness on my face anymore. 'Knew it was a good idea,' I think as Uenoyama begins teaching about strumming the strings.

"From top to bottom, and then you go back up," Uenoyama says, moving his hands to show him, but Mafuyu slowly strums the strings before he can. "Right. When you do that over and over, it sounds like this," Uenoyama says while quickly strumming his strings as Mafuyu carefully watches. Uenoyama tells him to try the strumming out and Mafuyu turns back to his guitar, doing what he was instructed to do.
