Astrid shivered as the cold wind started to bite. Oakley leaned over her and held her close in an attempt to keep the wind and rain from hitting her.

'Gently girl.' Oakley told her dragon as they landed in the center of Berk, where the riders had already gathered with Stoick, Lotus, and Gothi.

Oakley wasted no time before sliding off her dragon with an unconscious Astrid in her arms.

'What happened?!' Hiccup cried. As they rushed to Astrid's hut.

'We went for a flight and got caught in the storm.' Oakley explained as Hiccup opened the door to the hut allowing Oakley to enter. 'She fell. I couldn't get to her in time.' She said as she raced to Astrids bedroom to place her gently on the bed.

Gothi joined the girls while the other riders waited anxiously in the large room outside the bedroom door. Oakley refused to take her eyes off the blonde Viking lying motionless. She took hold of Astrids left hand, which looked uninjured, and gripped tightly tracing circles with her thumb, not caring that she was covered in mud and the blood from Astrid's head that had been leaning against her chest on the ride back.

Oakley stared as Gothi quickly got to work tending to Astrid.

Gothi explained that she needed Oakley to leave to assess her injuries. Oakley hesitated. She planted a kiss on Astrid's forehead, the only spot that wasn't covered in mud, before heading out the door.

The riders all looked up as Oakley entered.

'Is she okay?' Heather asked.

Oakley finally looked up from the spot on the floor she was focusing on and towards her brother.

'She's not telling me anything.' She said before returning her gaze to the ground.

'Oak? You're bleeding!' Hiccup said, Finally noticing the blood seeping through her shirt. The same blood that covered her hands.

'I'm fine Hiccup, it's not mine.' She explained, folding her arms, grasping her shirt at the sides. She wasn't fine. She was far from fine. Not only was the love of her life currently on her death bed but Oakley finally slowed down long enough to feel the bruise growing on her hip, from being thrown from her dragon.

'We should get you cleaned up.' Heather suggested.

'I wanna stay here.'

'You should at least clean up your hands. You can use the basin in my room.' Lotus gestured to her bedroom door, opposite Astrids.

Oakley nodded and Heather took her by the shoulder, leading her into the room.

Oakley closed the door behind her and quickly sank to the floor. She didn't cry, her expression just remained the same, empty.

Heather grabbed the basin of water and the cloth beside it before heading to where Oakley was sitting.

She noticed as Oakley winced in pain. She tried to hide it but Heather wasn't fooled. 'Oak? Are you okay?' She asked.

'I'm fine.' She replied bluntly.

'No, you're not.' Heather took Oakley's hands and placed them into the water, watching as the water changed color. 'Oak?'

'Heather I'm fine.' Oakley said. Heather finished cleaning Oakley's hands, before grabbing the damp cloth and beginning to wipe the mud from her face. Oakley winced again as her left hand clutched her shirt by the bruise on her right hip.

'Okay... Oak you're hurt. You need to tell someone.' Heather told her.

Oakley didn't respond.

Heather sighed. 'Will you at least let me check it out?'
