Giyushino one-shots

The moon is out and the cool night breeze is lovely. Giyu is just basking in the scenery, before he has to go on another mission tomorrow.

Funnily enough, he hasn't been on a mission for a couple of days, he and shinobu. Kagaya said they should take a few days off, but giyu thinks that he just wants to pair up the both of them. How sly.

So he is now sitting outside, in the cool night air, of the butterfly estate, just watching the stars in the sky.

'They say, if you wish upon a star, it will come true... i wonder if it is true?' he thought, and before he can continue, shinobu came.

"Good evening tomioka-san, why are you just sitting out here by yourself? Well since your disliked by people, i'll join you." She plopped herself next to him and giggled.

"I am not disliked by people..." he stated.

"My my, still can't realise your hated by people... you are very slow tomioka-san." She said with what he'll guess is pity.

"The night air feels nice. I wish it can stay like this, no demons." She finally said, after all her other ramblings. He agrees with her, demons ruined their lives, took their sisters and friends. He also wish the nightmare of demons to end.

He asked her a question. "Kocho, if you survive the final battle, what do you want to do after?" She looked suprised for a moment before her fake smile came on.

"Ara whats this? Tomioka-san is asking a question? This is amazing, i shall treasure this moment for a long time." She teased. He didn't look impressed with her answer so he asked it again, with more force.

"Kocho, just answer. What are you going to do?!" She blinked then smiled sadly.

"That answer only applies if i am going to survive in the first place..." it was his turn to be shocked.

"What..."

"I am going to die anyway tomioka-san, whats the point of thinking about the future?" She sounded so sure of herself that giyu was stunned for a moment.

'What... kocho knows she's gonna die... and is ok with it...' i think giyu's brain short-circuited at the thought of her death and living without her.

Mad at who i don't know, but at that moment he grabbed her shoulders to face him. Her eyes widen at the sudden movement.

"Tomioka-san what-"

"I won't let you die!!" He said firmly.

She laughed bitterly at his declaration. "Oh my, you don't need to save me, and i don't want it. I need to avenge my sister and to kill that bastard of a demon i have to die. And besides, i don't want to be living in a world without my beloved sister anyway. But thank you tomioka-san, i'll keep what you said in my heart." She finished with a smile.

Dumbfounded, he could only gape at her in absolute shock. He just couldn't wrap his head around her dying or her death in general, he doesn't care about her revenge or demons, he just wants her to be with him.

At that moment he realised two things, 1: he doesn't want her to die and 2: he loves her and wants her to be his wife.

Giyu lowered his head so that his bangs covers his face. Then suddenly he grit his teeth in frustration and pulled shinobu closer to him and kissed her hard. Her gasp was swallowed by the kiss.

Blinking in shock, she stared at giyu's face. Then after a while, she closed her eyes and kiss him back. This is probably the last time they can be like this anyway, kissing under the light of the moon.

After he pulled back he repeated himself, "i won't let you die, please let me save you, i love you and i want you to be my wife, so please..." he begged her desperately. Shinobu just looked shocked at his words, then started to cry.

"I am sorry tomioka-san...i am afraid that it isn't possible, maybe-"

"Just promise me you'll survive and marry me, please." He interrupted her. The pained smile she kept on when she is going to speak lies to him.

"Fine tomioka-san, i promise..." he embraced her, "thank you, thank you..."

She of course can't say the three words back, maybe in the next life.

'I love you too tomioka-san.' She thought in sadness. They held each other in the gentle moonlight.

The final battle:

"Caw!! Shinobu kocho has died!!! Killed in her confrontation with upper-moon 2!!! Caw!" The crow squawked out.

Giyu felt like his world just shattered at that announcement. Tanjiro almost jumped at the sudden overwhelming grief he smelt coming off of giyu.

'Nonononono she promised me, she promised..." he thought in disbelief.

It seems like she broke her promise.

I wanted to write more angst, because i can't, can only write fluff, and came up with this 😭 this is so sad pls-
I guess i only make myself sad with my angst, but this is so tragic🤧🤧
