Chapter 44 - Tony Stark

Steve and I look behind to see a portal on our left side. Three figures step through; Okoye, Shuri, and T'Challa fully restored and ready to fight. Then Sam zooms in from above in his Falcon armor. As he does, we see dozens more portals opening up all around the battlefield. Through one of these, we see Doctor Strange descend in. He is joined by Drax, Mantis, Star Lord, and Spider-Man. More and more heroes arrive from all corners of the universe, all backed up with forces of their own including T'Challa and his Wakandan army, Valkyrie and the Asgardians, Wong and the Masters of the Mystic Arts and several Ravager ships. Amongst the heroes we see Bucky, Groot, Wanda, the Wasp, and Pepper clad in her own iron suit arrive. Nearly every hero has magically been transported to the battlefield to face Thanos' hordes.

I sigh in relief as I see our friends....here to end this.

A giant Ant-Man emerges from the rubble of the Avengers facility with Bruce, Rhodey, and Rocket. The Avengers, Guardians, Wakandans, Asgardians, and Ravagers take up battle positions. The heroes standing across Thanos' forces.

Steve yells out, "AVENGERS!" he summons Mjolnir. "-assemble."

Thor makes a battle cry, as does T'Challa and all the heroes charge, Thanos raises his sword towards us, commanding his army to charge as well.

I teleport forward as both sides collide, I hold my palms up and blast the incoming aliens.

I look back as I fly up and smile at Pepper, "I knew you'd like the suit! I helped Tony build it!" I yell back.

Pepper looks back and smiles at me, her helmet goes back on as she fires down.

As Thor throws his axe at me, I hold my arm out and grab it, flying forward and spinning, slicing many enemies. I land next to Thor and throw it back to him, "Thanks." I smile. Steve lands next to me as I blast an incoming alien. "I knew you could lift it." I point down to the hammer.

He tosses it to me and I throw it forward, lighting striking down at the aliens as it flies past and lands pack in Steve's hands.

"Cap, what do you want me to do with this damn thing?" Clint suddenly says.

"Get those stones as far away as possible!" Steve yells.

"No! We need to get them back where they came from." Bruce yells back.

"No way to get them back. Thanos destroyed the quantum tunnel." Tony says.

"Hold on!" Scott yells.

Steve and I look at each other as we hear an alarm.
"Anyone see an ugly, brown van up there?" I ask.

"Yes! But you're not gonna like where it's parked!"

"Scott, how long you need to get that thing working?" Tony asks.

"Maybe ten minutes."

"Get it started. We'll get the stones to you." Steve nods.

"We're on it, Cap."

Steve and I fight back-to-back, every so often he passes me the hammer.

Suddenly the ship above us starts to fire, "Queens heads up!" Steve throws the hammer.

I use my power to block Steve and I as we huddle down together. I scream out as the blasts get stronger, almost making me let go.

"Y/N!" Steve grunts.

"Hold on!" I yell, squeezing my eyes shut as I focus on my power. Suddenly the shooting stops, and instead aims up towards the sky.

I scream out a I push out all of my power, it rips through me and out onto the aliens.

I collapse into Steve's arms, exhausted from using so much of my power at once. I stare up at the sky as I see Carol destroying the ship.

"Y/N?" Steve whispers.

I stare up at him and smile, "I love you."

"No no....you can't leave me." He starts to cry.

I smile again as I feel my strength coming back, "Can't get rid of me that easily Captain." I smirk.

"Don't scare me like that." Steve smiles as he helps me up.

My smile fades as a sudden wind passes through us...I stare around in shock as the aliens around us fade.

"Who.....Tony!" I scream, ripping out of Steve's grasp. I fly over to Tony and crash by his side as Pepper was also there, crying. "No....look at me Tony....your okay." I cry.

He looks over at me and slightly smiles. "I...love...you." He barely whispers.

"Come on...your okay." I cry. "Tony I love you....You can't leave us...you can't leave me...your the only father I've ever known please!" I beg.

His head slightly drops as the light in his arc reactor fades....he was gone.

I curl into his side, Pepper sits beside me and holds me as she also holds Tony's other hand.

I didn't just lose my brother today....I lost my father....my best friend.
