"Pale as Hell, dark brown hair?" Minho asked. I nodded, bringing the smirk back to his face as he pointed at me, looking between the other two.

"See? Told you!"

"Maybe you both dreamed it." Alby offered, following Newt's example and going back to his breakfast.

"Both dreamed the same kid?" Minho asked sceptically as he slumped back into his chair, crossing his arms as I dropped myself back into mine and grabbed my juice box. "Yeah, that's likely."

"How d'ya know it was him?" Newt asked, ripping up his toast as he did every morning, like the weirdo he was. "We've never seen him before."

"Exactly, and I'd never seen that kid before, either!"

"You were high, May was half asleep, it was probably Nick or Matt or someone."

"No, it was him."

The two sceptics turned to me, surprised.

Usually I took their side on these things, so me being firmly on Minho's threw them a bit.

I stood my ground, nodding decisively.

"I wasn't thinking about it before, but Min's right," I said. "It wasn't anyone we already know; he was too short to be Nick and too pale to be Matt, and they're the only two I can think of with that exact hair colour."

Alby and Newt studied me for a moment, and apparently found what they were looking for, as Newt just shrugged and Al nodded.

"Alright, if you guys are sure," Alby said, folding his hands together on the table. "What's our next move?"

Minho's smirk was back once again.

"What else? Find his room and meet the 'Elites'."

Easier said than done, as it turns out. The only hallways we hadn't yet explored were the ones a few floors above us, and that was because they were even more crawling with security than our floor, and that's saying something.

Took us a whole month to not only find Teresa (the female elite for Group A) and Thomas' rooms, but also map out a way to get there without getting caught.

Then Newt and I went to go bug them.

I softly knocked on Teresa's door with that knock that kids always do. You know the one: the knock knock kno-knock knock, knock knock.

After nearly a minute, the door opened a crack, and I saw a girl maybe Alby's age.

Lemme tell you, if I'd thought Thomas was pale, this girl was Casper the Friendly Ghost; I swear to God, I could see right through her skin, it was kinda creepy. Throw in the fact that her hair was literally the opposite extreme, and I was immediately suspicious that I was face-to-face with a vampire.

Either way, I smiled; maybe she was a nice vampire.

"Hi!" I whispered, waving a bit. "I'm May, and you're Teresa. Wanna see something cool?"

She just stared at me blankly for a solid minute. I was just about to reword the question, when she nodded.

"Yeah, okay." She agreed, backing into her room again. "Just let me get dressed."

My smile widened in what I hope didn't look creepy as I nodded, and she clicked the door shut again.

I looked across the hall at Newt, who was currently talking to Thomas, and shot him a thumbs up that he returned.

So far, so good.

After a few hushed words back and forth, the boys walked over to meet me.

"This' May," Newt told Thomas, before lowering his voice a bit more. "She's mostly harmless."
