Lando sat in his streaming room, doing one of his normal everyday streams. He wanted to do a quick stream as it such a big occasion today. His son Isaac's second birthday. It seemed like only yesterday he was in the hospital beside you awaiting the arrival of the perfect little creature. Since then, your lives have changed. Lando was only in his rookie season of formula one but he didn't really mind. He could bring youu and the baby everywhere with him but then came along the 2020 season, when you couldn't even leave your house. You didn't mind, you understood completely what the virus would mean for your family so you stayed in the house by yourself, three weeks at a time. Calls were the main system of communication but it just wasn't the same without Lando actually being there.
"Okay chat, I've got a few minutes left before I have to go for Isaac's birthday party so any suggestions or birthday wishes?" Lando waited for a few minutes and watched as all the responses flooded in, getting Isaac to play the F1 2020 game being the most popular. "Should we get him to drive around on the simulator chat?" He didn't even need the responses. He knew their answer. "Okay one second. I'll call Y/n to bring him in." Lando walked out of the room and into the living room, looking around at the colourful, ballon filled room smelling of freshly baked cake. "Oh. Finished so soon?" You asked, hanging up another balloon. "No, not yet. I was thinking I could bring Isaac into the streaming room with me and let him do some simulator work." You gave him a look as if you just said 'really? Are you serious?' Of course he was serious. It's Lando we're talking about here. "Lando! He's only three!"
"Gotta teach them young." he replied quickly. You chuckled to yourself and nodded, giving in. "Fine. Ten minutes because then the party will be ready." Lando's grin grew wider. "Thank you darling." he said kissing your cheek. "That's nine minutes now." You muttered. "That's such a lie! Isaac!" You laughed to yourself as Lando ran to get little Isaac for racing. This is what you missed. These little family moments. Those ten minutes flew by yet Lando still wasn't coming out with Isaac. You huffed and went onto twitch on your phone. What was he doing? "Okay Isaac, that's P13. Not bad buddy." Lando cooed as Isaac just repeated the sound 'vroom' over and over again. "Right buddy, should we say goodbye to everyone?" Lando asked gently. "Bye, bye!" Isaac said to the computer, waving his little hand ecstatically. "It's my birthday!" he squealed. "That's right buddy! Today is your birthday!" Lando looked at the chat and saw thousands upon thousands of sweet birthday messages for the toddler. "Aw thanks so much guys but we have to go to his party now. We'll see you tomorrow though!" and with that, Lando ended the stream.
You sat back awaiting the pair to walk through the door and surely enough they did. "Okay mumma, we are back. Let's get this cake." Lando said, Isaac perched up on his shoulders. "Why has my baby gotten taller?" you playfully asked reaching up to get him. Lando took this opportunity to peck your lips, making you smile. "Daddy is so silly." Isaac giggled. "Daddy isn't silly, daddy is British." You began cackling at the random fact of Lando but walked over to the kitchen table where the homemade caterpillar cake sat. "Cake!" Isaac cheered, throwing his arms into the air. "That's right baby. Wanna blow out your candles?" Isaac nodded his head enthusiastically. You set Isaac on his chair and began singing Happy Birthday with Lando, cheers ensuing afterwards. "Now blow out your candles and make a wish!" Isaac stared at the candles and smiled before blowing them out with multiple little huffs. "What did you wish for buddy?" Lando asked. Isaac looked up. "I wished you could stay here a little bit longer." Lando sucked in a sharp breath. He knew he had to leave in a couple of weeks. "We'll see buddy, we'll see." Lando replied, sounding a little down. "Do you want to open your presents?" You asked trying to lift the mood.
Isaac nodded his head sadly and grabbed the first gift he could see. A squishy present. What could it be? He tore the paper and smiled once he saw the beautiful papaya orange of McLaren gear. "Cool!" Isaac squealed. "Thank you daddy!" Your heart melted at the scene in front of you. "There should be more stuff in there buddy." You furrowed your eyebrows a little bit confused because it was obvious there was nothing left in the packaging. "In the pockets." You looked at Lando with a questioning look but he payed no attention to that. Hee watched as his son inspected the pockets and pulled out a pass. His eyes lit up upon seeing it. "Is that a paddock pass daddy?" Isaac asked, matching you in astonishment. "It is buddy. Wanna go to Silverstone with me?" You and Lando looked at Isaac and saw his eyes welling up with tears. "I can go?" he asked close to a whisper. "Of course you can buddy."
Isaac jumped from his seat and ran over to his dad to give him a huge hug. "Thank you daddy!" he cried. Lando smiled over to you. "No problem buddy. Happy birthday. Now go put your stuff away and come back out for a movie night." Isaac ran away with his jumper into his room. Lando smiled and turned around to be faced with you, teary eyed. "What-" he didn't even finish his sentence as he was cut off by your hugging him. "You're amazing, you know that?" Lando chuckled. "I've been told that a good few times." he laughed"Oof, cocky much?"
"Only for you darling."
"Thank God I have to put up with you. I don't know how anyone else would."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
