"You slept with Emily?"

Tears streamed down my face as y/n just stood there.

"JJ, I promise I didn't," Y/n said, still standing in a towel.

"Then what is this text?" I whisper, afraid if I go any louder I'll start yelling.

"I can't tell you," she said, tearing up.

"THEN YOU DID CHEAT ON ME!" I broke.

"That's it. I'm going to Emily. I'm confronting her about this. I said I love you. AND YOU HURT ME. AM I NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU?"

Before she had time to answer, I stormed out of the room and went straight to Emily.

I knocked on the door, giving her five seconds to open it before I broke in.

"Hey Ja- what's wrong?"

"How about you tell me. Y/n cheated on me with you?"

"W-what?" Emily looked genuinely confused.

"The text message. 'I cant wait to do it again ;)' WHAT THE HELL EMILY?"

"JJ I promise that she didn't cheat on you. If I tell you what happened y/n and I could get fired. But I can promise you that she did not cheat on you. I wouldn't lie. I swear on my LIFE that she didn't cheat on you with me. Understand?"

I sat there, dumbfounded. What if she was lying?

"What about the text?" I asked.

"That was a cover. I never thought you would find it, I'm so sorry you did. But I can't tell you what it's a cover for," Emily said.

I nodded, still not believing her.

"I can't talk to y/n or you for a little while. I've been hurt in the past and I can't deal with this right now, even if she didn't cheat on me. I'm going to Rossi, I need advice," I said.

"I understand," Emily said. I left the room and went down the hall, knocking on Rossi's door.

"Hello? JJ what's wrong?" Rossi asked, immediately bringing me into a hug.

"Come in."

Y/N POV

After JJ had left, I got dressed and sat down on the bed.

"What the hell were you thinking? You shouldn't have left your phone there, especially when your working on this. I'm such a dumbass," I repeated to myself over and over.

A few minutes later I heard a knock at the door. I hoped it was JJ so I could explain, but when I opened it I saw it was Emily.

"Emily, I can't hide this mission anymore. I can't have the love of my life thinking i'm cheating on her. It's not fair," I said, tears threatening to spill.

"I know, but it's almost over. Once it's over, you can tell her what really happened. After she left here she came over to my room. I told her that it was classified but I promised that you weren't cheating on her. She still didn't believe me so she went to Rossi's room. He can help her figure out how to deal with this,"

I nodded, knowing that we wouldn't be able to have a civil conversation, especially when we were all this tired.

"I think you should go," I said to Emily.

"Yeah. Night."

"Night."

JJ POV

"What happened?" Rossi asked. We moved over to the chairs, me sitting across from him.

"Y/n was showering and her phone lit up. I thought it was mine so I grabbed it, but it was hers. There was a text message from Emily, saying 'I can't wait to do this again' with a winky face. I yelled at y/n and then went to Emily to yell at her, but she told me it was a cover for a classified project, but I still don't believe her. I don't know what to do," I said, sniffling.

"Well, that is a rough spot to be in. I would spend the night with Tara, I would offer here but I'm sure you would be more comfortable with her. But remember, you don't have to apologize. That was a completely natural reaction, nothing you should have to apologize for. This is something that nobody should have to go through, especially someone as caring as you. I've seen how you act around y/n, you really care for her and would do anything if it meant keeping her happy. This is completely unfair. Now, I'm not one to pick sides but I'm on yours," he said laughing. I joined in the laughter, knowing that Rossi always gave the best advice no matter what the subject was.

"Now, It's really late. You should get some sleep," He said, standing up.

"Yeah, I'm gonna head over to Tara's. Thank you so much, it really means a lot that I can come to you for this stuff."

"Of course, anytime," he said smiling. I thanked him again and then walked to Tara.

She was thankfully still awake, so I gave her a quick recap of why I wanted to stay in her room. She nodded, saying I was welcome anytime. I took the bed on the left, facing away from her towards the window. I laid awake for who knows how long, wondering if what Emily said was true or not.

I had eventually drifted off to sleep, but when I woke up I knew I hadn't gotten nearly enough.

"Time to get up and face the world of serial killers," Tara said, scaring me.

"Jesus Tara, why are you so cheerful this early," I said sarcastically.

"What do you mean? It's always exciting," she restated, laughing. I rolled out of bed, realizing I didn't have any clothes to wear for the day.

"Uh oh," I said.

"What's wrong?" Tara asked from the bathroom where she was turning on the water for the shower.

"I don't have any clothes and I don't want to go back to the room," I said, sighing.

"Oh! One case you left a shirt and pants in the bathroom of the room we shared in Illinois. I keep them in my bag to give back but I keep forgetting," she said.

"Tara Lewis you are a life saver," I said.

I quickly changed clothes, mentally preparing to face y/n and Emily for the rest of the day.
