From The Inbetween (A Karl x Reader)

I decided to leave Karl at his house. He didn't know what I looked or sounded like so he shouldn't recognise me at the festival tomorrow.

"Hey Y/N! I thought I'd let you know that we're holding a festival tomorrow at L'manberg and I want you to come!" Tubbo called as he ran up to me.
"Aww thanks! I'll be there, uh...what time?" I tried to play off like I didn't know everything that was gonna happen.
"8Pm! Don't miss it!" He waved and walked away.

I felt a cold breeze climb up my spine. Why is earth so cold!
"Hey are you ok? You look cold." A voice called out, I turn to face them.
6'3, fair brown hair, fairly masculine body with I very feminine walk. Ah! Eret. I remember.
"Just a bit chilly y'know." I laughed and he joined in.
"Here take this." He unclipped his cloak and wrapped it around me.
"Are you this nice to every girl you meet?" I asked.
"Not just girls but yes I am, don't worry I'm not the type to flirt with a stranger." He nudged me slightly.
"Eret right? I'm Y/N." I stuck my hand out to meet his.
"Pleasure to meet you." He shook my hand and we both laughed. Clearly two very socially awkward people making a friend for the first time.
"Are you going to the festival tonight?" He asked as we stopped laughing.
"I am yeah!" He seemed nice, a good friendship could be found here.
"Would you wanna go together? Like a not date, cause we just friends." He joked.
"Do people do that here?" I asked, very confused.
"Yeah just ask Niki! She'll tell you all about her and Wilburs not dates." He smiled.
"Well then I'll see you at 7:30" A not date, you learn something new everyday.
"Your staying with Puffy right?" He asked, as he pulled an awkward finger gun at me. Bi, definitely Bi.
"Yeah i am! Quick question, Ik it's weird but are you bi?" I don't know why I asked this but I did.
"Yeah actually I am! We Bi's and sense each other well huh?" He smirked.
"Ah you caught me"

Eret and I spoke for almost an hour in the cold he was really nice and I felt like I had a friend. I learned a lot about the history of L'manberg, things Kizzie never told me. It was nice. I also learned that Eret goes by she/her they/them and he/him how cool!
"And what about you? What pronouns do you want me to use for ya?" He asked. No one had ever asked me that before, I knew the answer but never the question.
"She/They." It felt good to let someone know.
"I'll keep that in mind! Do you like donuts? There's a donut shop down the road from here." They pointed to a small shop down the road.
"I've never had one..." I felt dumb, I bet everyone on earth has had one.

"Omg- bitch- you haven't- WHAT?" He got so excited and basically dragged me there.
"NIKI WE NEED TWO PLANE GLAZED DONUTS AND WE NEED EM NOW."
"Eret you know this is a bakery, we don't only sell donuts!" A girl replied behind the counter who I assumed to be Niki.
"Not the point! Y/N has never had a donut and we need to fix this!" He looked her directly in the eyes with a very serious look. Was it that bad that I've never had one? Niki nodded and got to work.

After a couple minutes she came back with three fresh glazed donuts. They looked delicious! We all laughed as we ate. My eyes lit up at the taste, they felt like heaven on my tongue.
"These are amazing!"

We continued to laugh and talk for about another hour until I looked at the time.
"Oh no. Puffy wants be to be back soon cause we wants to talk a more. I'll see you later! Thanks for the donuts!" I take off Erets cloak and hand it back. I leave the store and run home.

"Sorry I'm late, I was hanging out with Eret and Niki." I say as I run through the front door panting.
"Did you run here?" She giggled in response.
