After almost ten days without hearing from Draco since they were interrupted at the party, Lucy took it upon herself to go and visit him.
She had showered and dressed in a black and white plaid skirt with a black shirt and her white sneakers. She kept her hair natural but pushed it behind her ears and shoulders, so it was out of the way. Taking one last look in her mirror Lucy headed downstairs.
The house was quiet as she reached the foyer, and she quickly scribbled a note and left it on the entry table. She quietly opened the front door and headed outside, into a hot windy day.
She took a breath, not realizing how humid the day would be before she set off for the Malfoy Manor. Between her and Draco, they had managed to create and maintain a relatively quick walking trail to each other's houses. Though it had been quite some time since Lucy had taken the trail herself, once she started the journey she quickly remembered.
It didn't take her long before she began to see the Malfoy Manor through the trees up ahead. She carefully went through the rusty old gate that sat between her and the manor and headed up into their garden before gently knocking on their back door.
"Miss. Parcivall." An older woman answered the door. Lucy smiled at her as she let her inside the house.
Lucy kept quiet as she walked through the manor. It was dark and eerie as Lucy made her way upstairs to Draco's room.
She listened attentively as she stood outside his door, her heart beat incredibly fast as she ever so gently knocked on his door, almost as if she didn't want him to hear it so she could run out as quickly as she entered.
She didn't know what it was about the manor that slightly frightened her, but as Draco's door opened up and she saw him standing in front of her, tussled hair, shorts and a polo shirt, she relaxed and smiled at him.
"Hi." She said.
"Hey, I wasn't expecting you. Come in." He said, stepping out of the way to let her into his room.
"Thanks." She said, entering. "I should have let you know I was coming." She added, looking around his room.
"It's fine." He said, closing the door behind her and heading over to his desk.
"I haven't heard from you in a while." She quietly said as she sat down on the edge of his bed and watched him as he sat down at his desk and flipped through a few pages of parchment.
"I've been busy." He replied with a shrug of his shoulders. Lucy nodded and rested back on her hands, feeling his soft sheets under her fingers. She remembered the last time she had felt them.
"So, what are you doing, anyway?" Draco said, turning back to his work on the desk.
"Just stopped by to see you. That's all." Lucy said, watching him. After a few minutes of silence Lucy sighed to herself. "I can leave, if you're busy." She said, quieter than normal.
"You don't have to leave." Draco answered. "I just need to finish this. You can hang out in here until I'm done." He said, before he turned his attention back onto his parchment. Lucy relaxed more and the two sat in a comfortable silence for a while until Draco was finished with what he was doing.
"I want to show you something." He said as he got to his feet and made his way to the door. "Come on." He said, opening his door and making his way out. Lucy quickly got to her feet and followed him out. He led her downstairs and back out the door she entered in, making their way outside.
"Where are we going?" Lucy asked, as Draco led her through the garden and to the back fields of the Manor.
"Come on, it's just a little further." He said, looking over his shoulder and smirking at her. Lucy shook her head and silently followed him through the field until they came up to a sturdy wooden fence.
