Yes, Dream, I'd totally come back and get more attached just to leave again.

Or

No, Dream, I'm not coming back because I'm that into you and I don't want to get more attached

"Yes."

"Really?"

"Yes."

George lied back down, setting his phone right beside his eyes.

"I'd give anything to go back."

Dream was thinking about something to say next, surely.

"Then why don't you?"

Wait, what?

If something came out of George's mouth, it would be a stutter. So he didn't reply at first.

He actually didn't reply at all, because Dreams voice was cutting out.

"Dream?"

George's head sprung up, and then a message along the lines of "call failed" came across the screen.

"Fuck," he whispered to himself, his finger hovering back over Dreams contact.

His phone must've died. Great, perfect timing.

-

Morning came only hours later. Dreams phone had died in the middle of a semi important conversation last night- what perfect timing.

Although Dream wanted to have a deep conversation with George, he was afraid. It was hard to admit.

In the morning, Dream made his bed and brushed his teeth. He slipped on some new sweatpants and a different sweatshirt- along with cleaner white socks.

Since his phone had been charging all night, it was completely ready for another phone conversation.

"Are you sure you don't want to stay a bit longer?"
Dreams mother asked softly, leaning against the doorframe and watching as Dream fluffed up the pillows.

"It's not that I don't want to, mom. My whole job is at home."

"Oh right, you and that computer you're glued to."

He eyed her with a soft expression.

"I'm joking. I know what you need to do." She ruffled up his hair with a humorous smile.

"How much longer are you planning to grow this out?" She started playing with a few strands.

"I don't know. I want it long."

"That's a first."

Dream just laughed, picking up his phone and headphones now.

"Call me when dad gets home."

"I was already planning on doing so, hon."
