Chapter 7: Remedial Goodness 101 ​​​​​​

"If someone hands you a crying baby," Fairy Godmother asked, "Do you, A, curse it? B, lock it in a tower? C, give it a bottle? Or D, carve out its heart?" Fairy Godmother asked, pointing to the question on the board.

It was our Remedial Goodness class and Fairy Godmother was teaching us about 'how to be good' and stuff. Honestly, it was super boring. Only Mal and I really knew what was happening at this point, the others had no idea what was going on.

The boys sat at their own table, looking confused as always. Mal, who wasn't paying attention, was sitting next to Evie, who had her hand raised excitedly, and I sat at the table behind Mal, trying my best to ignore the stupid class and its even stupider questions.

"Evie" Fairy Godmother called on my best friend.

"What was the second one?" Evie asked the Fairy Godmother.

"Oh, okay. Anyone else? Skylar?" Fairy Godmother called on me.

"C, give it a bottle," I said without even looking up from my drawing.

"Correct. Again."

"You are on fire, girl!" Carlos commented from the table next to Mal.

"It's not that hard" I mumbled.

"Just pick the one that doesn't sound like any fun," Mal said, rolling her eyes.

"Ohhh..." Carlos looked up in realization, finally understanding how the whole 'good' thing worked.

A girl with short brown hair, a blue dress, and a blue hair bow walked up the aisle in between the five of us and straight up to Fairy Godmother, squealing as she passed us. I finally looked up from my drawing and paid attention, this could be interesting.

"Hello, dear one." Fairy Godmother said to her as the girl passed her a clipboard.

"Hi. You need to sign off on early dismissal for the coronation." The girl said, she looked back at the rest of us. She seemed nervous, scared even.

"Everyone here remembers my daughter, Jane?" Fairy Godmother said, signing something on the clipboard. Mal turned around in her seat to look at me, she gave me her 'I have an idea' look before turning back around.

"Mom, no!" Jane protested her mother.

"It's okay." Her mother consoled her, handing back the clipboard, "Jane, this is everyone." Fairy Godmother said, giving her daughter a slight push towards us.

"Hi. That's okay, don't mind me. As you were." Jane said before running past us and out of the classroom.

"Ahem. Let's continue." Fairy Godmother said before turning back to the chalkboard, "You find a vial of poison. Do you, A, put it in the king's wine? B, paint it on an apple? Or C, turn it over to the proper authorities?"

Evie, Carlos, and Jay all raised their hands to answer the question. Jay looked over at Carlos and took his hand and pulled it down so that he couldn't answer the question.

"Jay." Fairy Godmother picked Jay.

"C." Jay said coolly before throwing Carlos' hand away, "You turn it over to the proper authorities."
