It was unusually quiet that night, everyone in the Huang household had decided to go to sleep early that night.
At 11:30, Renjun had snuck out of his room to the kitchen fully dressed, taking out a cake he had bought a few days ago from his brother's favorite bakery.
He slipped on his shoes and headed out the door. He called a taxi and told the driver the location.
Seoul General Hospital.
Once he got inside, he asked the nurses on duty for a room number, and they lead him to the place.
He took a deep breath before walking in, dragging a chair over to the patient lying still on a bed in the middle of the room.
He looked over at the clock.
October 28, 12:00 AM
He squeezed his eyes shut, tears escaping his eyes as he held the small cake in his hands.
He was trying to not be loud so he wouldn't wake any patients up.
"Ge, if you're listening, how are you?" He said with a shaky breath.
"Are you okay here?"
He took a deep breath, trying to calm down.
"I hope you can see me, I didn't forget your birthday. I-I went to visit Y-yuta hyung two days ago, he seems to be peaceful."
His voice broke, and he silently cried for a little while before talking again.
"I really miss you two you know?" He said as he looked down.
He pursed his lips as he put the cake on the bedside table, trying to stop his hands from trembling.
His breathes started to become jagged as the night from exactly two years ago replayed in his head.
"Bye Renjunnie! I'm going on a date with Yuta and I'll be back before 1:00!"
Renjun peeked his head out of his room as he heard his brother's voice.
"Sicheng, Sicheng, Sicheng." He said in a playful manner as he shook his head and crossed his arms.
Sicheng rolled his eyes and patted his brother's head.
He kissed his hair, which caused Renjun to let out a fake gagging sound as he pushed his brother away.
Sicheng laughed.
Oh how he missed that laugh.
He missed his smile.
He missed playing with his brother's ears as he would read books or study.
He missed Sicheng.
"Tell mom and dad for me okay?"
Renjun nodded and watched as his brother left the house, waiting outside and leaning against a car was his boyfriend, Yuta.
