"It's a force, like gravity or energy. It's always been here and will live on once we're gone!" I said, thinking back at what Thawne had written in the time journal." and it's the source of Nora and Flash's power!" I explained as grandma Nora nodded.

"You seem to hold a lot of knowledge about us, Dawn!" Grandma Nora.

"Us?" I said as I began piecing everything together." Your the speed force. I'm talking to the speed force?" I stood up, trying to wrap my head around everything."I'm talking to an energy field?"

"It's a lot to take in; please take your time!" The speed force said, watching.

"I'm fine, I just... How am I even here right now?"

"You're not!" the speed force replied." your body is still in the physical world as your friends and family work diligently to save you, but-"

"My conscious is in the speed force!" I finished laughing, not believing what I was hearing." okay, why me and why now right in the middle of everything?"

The speed force tapped the seat next to it. I reluctantly sat back down as it began explaining.

"I've been with you since you were conceived, although very early in your life, our connection to you and your sister was dampened!" the speed force explained." until recently!"

"When Nora was struck by lightning from God speed, and it destroyed her damper!" I replied.

"Yes!" the speed force agreed.

"But I don't have a damper, my sister and I checked already!" I argued.

"Sometimes, the things we're looking for are not always where we expect them to be!" the speed force replied.

"So-so your saying I do have a damper," I replied.

"A few weeks ago, our connection to you suddenly got stronger. We were able to reach you!"

"When Nora threw lighting, Caitlyn said I received the aftershock from the flash!" I said, thinking back."That was you, the voice I've been hearing!"

The speed force smiled.

"Yes, dawn!" the speed force began." although our connection to you is stronger, we currently only have spurts when we can reach you.

"It's because the dampener in me is malfunctioning, isn't it? that's why everything seemed like it was moving in slow motion because it was." I replied.

"Yes and no!" the speed force replied." the damper isn't the only thing blocking our connection... You are!"

"I'm not blocking your connection!" I argued." If i was, you shouldn't be in my conscious, right?"

"Your physical body was at your weakest point, giving us a small enough window to contact you!" the speed force explained." However, we can sense that you are rejecting any further advances. Why is that?"

"I'm not rejecting you!" I yelled." I-I just want to go home!" I said, lowering my voice.

"We cant send you back yet-"

"Fine!" I said, cutting them off." ill just find my own way back!"

I ran out of the house and began sprinting up the empty streets of what looked like Central City. I ran until I couldn't run anymore, and I stopped to take a break. I looked behind me to see if they had followed, but I didn't see anybody.

"We can't send you back without our gift!"

I turned around and was suddenly transported to the loft, and the speed force was standing behind me.
