Dawn West-Allen: Part Two

I took a few steps off the track before collapsing from exhaustion in the middle of the floor. We've been in the speed lab since this morning, and I've done over 8,000 laps non-stop as Nora read my vitals. Since I didn't win the bet fair and square, I figured Nora helping me do extra training on the side wouldn't be too much to ask for.

"It says you've increased your speed by 5 mph since the first time you ran." Nora read the screen.

"5 mph?" I turned my head to look at her." That's all?"

"Did you think increasing your speed would be easy?" Nora said, joining me on the floor." It's only been three months since the dampener, and Caitlyn said you're powers are still technically developing."

"I know, but I've been practicing and pushing myself to run faster every day." I replied staring at the ceiling." I just expected more progress than that."

"Maybe we can ask Thawne." She shrugged.

"You're going to ask Thawne?" I questioned as she nodded."I thought you were mad at him or something."

"Why-why do you say that?"

"After his plan failed you've been practically refusing to send new journal entries." I said."We haven't sent anything since grandma Nora and grandpa henry- oh, and didn't you want to tell me something that night?"

"Yeah about that," Nora said softly." I was just going to tell you about what I saw in the past, but it's not important."She sighed." and after Joss's court trial, the usual meta-human attacks, and Dad stuck in the pipeline for a day, we haven't had time to send the journal entries."

"Yeah, I guess so." I said, thinking back." Ya know, when dad was stuck in the pipeline, I beat him like 30 times in goldfish."

"30 times?!" Nora questioned."I think I'm more surprised that you guys played 30 rounds of goldfish."

"It was the only game that Cisco had."I explained." I was using my speed the entire time, but Dad didn't notice since his powers were dampened." I snickered.

"Yeah...Wait!" Nora said Sitting up and staring at me with a huge grin.

"What?" I asked, concerned.

"You said Dad, Not flash." Nora said.

I propped myself up on my elbows realizing what I said.

"Yeah, but it's-"

"-My baby sister said Dad for the first time!" Nora pulled me in for a hug while ruffling my hair.

"It's not a big deal." I pushed her away.

"It is a big deal!" She said."You called him dad, for the first time in your entire life. Even in the future, you never referred to him as "dad." Nora said as her phone buzzed.

"I did sometimes."I argued.

" Sure you did."She said while reading the message on her phone."Looks like dad needs me at CCPD. finish training later?."

"Sure-Hey Nora, are sure it was nothing?" I said referring back to that night."It didn't seem like nothing."

"Don't worry about it Dawn, I promise it was nothing." She said with a smile before speeding away.

"If you say so." I mumbled before laying down on the cold metal floor.

"5 mph?" I thought." I bet I can change that by this afternoon."
