At that, Zim promptly turned and led Dib into his base. The Irken walked quickly, each step resulting in the clack of his boots against the hard tile of the living room.

"Computer! Take us down to the labs!" The Computer let out a groan of annoyance at the demand, but complied anyway. Dib wasn't necessarily fearful of the Computer, though almost every encounter with it was quite unpleasant and mostly ended up with him getting lasers fired at him. This, though, was one of the rare occasions where that didn't happen, much to Dib's delight. As delightful as obtaining help from your enemy could be, anyway. The familiar elevator took them down into the bowels of Zim's base, the prominent room where much of Zim's schemes came to fruition. If this were any other day, Dib would be exceptionally excited to explore and perhaps plant cameras around to gain vital information involving Zim's schemes. Alas, things were never going to be that way.

"So, Zim, what do you plan on doing to extract this thing off of me?" Zim jumped slightly, as if surprised to hear Dib talking. He had a look painted across his face that almost screamed, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, DIB?!", but it quickly faded into a look of intense thought.

"I have a specific section of the lab for this exact purpose, Dib-thing. It is obviously something I have because I am a genius and I am prepared for everything." Dib huffed.

"Can you stop being so full of yourself, you egotistical insect? For all I know I could be dying and you're here gloating about your intelligence."

"YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND MY GREATNESS, DIB! Now shut up before I decide to just let that thing infect you until you're no more than a pile of meaty human meat." Grimacing, Dib opted to keep quiet for the time being. He didn't want to risk losing his only chance at getting rid of the PAK. Every second since he arrived, he could feel some sort of electrical current running into his back from it, and it frightened him.  Distractedly, he didn't pay attention much as Zim continued on through long corridors and tunnels, until he motioned for Dib to stop. "We're here." Peering into the dimly lit lab, Dib could scarcely see where exactly 'here' was. He could make out various instruments, but just barely. Suddenly, the room was flooded with a harsh white light. It was similar to many of the laboratory rooms he had been subjected to in his short life. Cringing at the thought, he followed Zim as he was led towards a shiny looking table. Cables hung from the ceiling, like vines off of a tree, and they seemed to have some sort of strange connectors on the ends of them.

"Where the hell are we, Zim?" Zim scoffed in annoyance and rolled his eyes.

"Weren't you paying attention at all, worm? I told you I was taking you to the very specific section of my lab for this predicament you've gotten yourself into."

"And what is it called?"

"It's called the uh...the PAK Repair and Care Center. Yes, the PRCC to be precise." Dib laughed, his voice bouncing off the surrounding metal.

"You just came up with that on the spot, didn't you?" Zim gripped Dib's arm.

"SILENCE! I should probably tell you that the trials you are about to go through will be extremely uncomfortable and most likely painful. PAK extractions usually are, which is why they need careful precision. You should be lucky, Dib-monkey, that you have such a genius Invader on your planet who is gracious enough to assist you in this matter. After all, we can't have two Irkens to a-"

"What do you mean, 'two Irkens'". Dib peered quizzically to Zim. The Irken grimaced and glanced away.

"Well, Dib, since you obviously weren't paying any attention to what I told you previously, essentially you're being converted and corrupted. Your whole DNA is being spliced and smoodged and mashed until you become an Irken, which will almost certainly happen." Dib shook his head in disbelief, he knew that the PAK was causing some abnormalities like the weird eye infection but he wasn't actually  turning into an Irken. He couldn't be. "That is, of course, unless I can extract the PAK. You haven't had it attached to you for too long so the process has only just started, which should be quite good for you because you won't be in agonizing misery!" Zim grabbed Dib's arm and dragged him to one of the metal tables. Its surface was freezing and Dib couldn't help but shudder. A sudden twinge of fear struck him. He had no idea what Zim was actually planning on doing, this could spell utter catastrophe for him.
