Chapter 4

Reader's POV

Gene and I somehow end up at a dessert stand.

"Gene, let me have my cupcake!" Gene thinks for a bit.

"How about no?" Gene replies and takes a bite out of it.

"Nooo! My cupcake." I fell to the ground in defeat.

"Holy heck, these cupcakes taste great!" I heard Gene exclaim.

"I know right!" I heard a joyful voice chime in. I turned my head in the direction I heard the voice and saw Aph and Zane. Zane growled at Gene. I slowly stood back up.

"Oh, Y/N you're here?" Aph chirped.

"Yeah, I was kind of here all along."

"Oh, sorry I didn't notice you." Aph apologized.

"No worries, it's fine." I replied to her.

"Gene, I want a cupcake" I whined.

"I'll get you one."

"Yay!"

"But." Gene paused.

"But, what?

"But you have to give me a kiss."

I pouted, "fine" I pecked him on the cheek.

"Come on, you can do better than that." I pout again.

"Ok." This time I kissed him on the lips. But I separated before he takes it too far.

"Does that fancy you?"

"Alright, let me get out my wallet."

"Yay! Cupcakes!" At this point I was so excited that I basically sparkled.

We were on the volleyball field, about to play a game of volleyball.

"Dante!"

"Y/N! Please!"

I scoffed "fine," I pouted. I wanted to team with Gene, but Dante insists that I team with Katelyn.

"Whatever, me and Y/N are so going to kick your butts!" Katelyn shouts. "After all, she was one of the best players back in High School." Katelyn boasted.

"Gene is a good player, probably better than the both of you combined." Dante shot back.

Katelyn scoffed, "as if!"

The game started. Gene served the ball, I jumped in to hit the ball over the net. Dante leaned forward but missed the ball. The score was 0-1, Dante served this time, barely hitting the ball past the net. Katelyn bumped the ball up and it flew towards Gene, who in turn hit it past the net and hit me in the face. I flew to the ground. I saw them run towards me. Everything went black.

I woke up in a white room with a holy looking woman standing in front of a counter chopping some celery.

"Why am I here?" I ask the woman.

"Your future." The woman briefly said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"I am not allowed to tell you much, but I can warn you that if you don't act fast in your future, you will deeply regret it. But for now, enjoy yourself, you'll know when to act," and with that she disappeared, and I returned to my friends.

I fluttered my eyes open. Everyone was gathered around me, how am I supposed to know when to act?

"Y/N! Thank goodness you're okay!" Aaron sighed as relief washed over his face.

"How long was I out?" I asked no one in particular.

"About 5 minutes" Katelyn replied while everyone nodded.

I paused in my daze. There are two certain people missing, Gene and Dante.

"Where's Gene?" I groggily sat up, my head pounding.

"With Dante." Someone with a cherry voice piped up.

"Where's Dante?" I asked, my head not pounding as much as before.

"Probably in his room," the same cherry voice says.

"Thanks," I get up and start walking to Dante's room while everyone else just stared and watched as I made my way.

When I get there, I hear loud chattering coming from the two brothers. I put my ear to the door.

"I hate to admit this to you Dante, but I'm not the best big brother." Said a voice I'm presuming as Gene's.

"Why would you say that?" Dante asked.

"So, you know how I'm dating Y/N?"

"Yeah..?" Dante trailed off.

"Well... I'm kinda... cheating on her."

Once Gene said that, my eyes widened, and I got away from the door. I started to cry, and I bolted to my room in the ship, which was being shared with Gene. The only person not sharing a room with anyone was Zane. But hey, I'll take my chances, just to get away from this room, and Gene. I wash my face and head to look for Zane. Knowing Zane he is, probably alone in his room watching some 'man' show.

I knock on his door and hear a grunt from inside then a mumbled "come in."

I open the door to see Zane on the bed with a paused car show on the screen opposite of him. He stares me down, "what do you want?"

"So... you know how I... uh... am dating Gene?" I question.

"Yeah, and?"

"Well, I want to break up with him and uh... I don't want to share a room with him anymore..."

"What does this have to do with me?" He abruptly asks.

"I was wondering, if I could room with you, y'know since you're the only person that is currently not rooming with someone."

"N-"

"And before you say no, I know about your pony shows. I'll tell everyone about how you watch them."

"How?"

"Aphmau told Aaron and Aaron told me," I smiled at him innocently."

"Fine... you can stay... but, don't tell anyone!" I clap my hands together and cheer.

"I'll bring my stuff."

"I can see the blackmail that radiates off of her, Gene's rubbed off too much on her." Zane mumbled.

"I heard that!" I growled at him.

And with that I left for my previous room with Gene and packed my stuff. I turned to Apple before I left, she came running to me, I hugged her and mumbled an apology then I said goodbye. I took my stuff to my new shared room. Zane already set up the other bed for me. I unpacked my necessities and relaxed while watching an episode of My Little Horsies with Zane.

When I woke up, I saw Zane still sleeping soundly in his bed. Somehow his mask is still snuggly on his face, does he ever take that thing off? I checked the time on my phone, and it read 8:00 in the morning. I got up and went to the bathroom to get ready for the day. When we get out of this ship. I can search for a new house, maybe I can move in with Kawaii~Chan, she was my friend back in Highschool. I didn't have much in the old house, I just need the stuff I brought with me. I got out of the bathroom and saw Zane up and ready to head out for breakfast.

"Come on, I'm hungry." I told him. I exited the room with him trailing behind.

The whole day passed by in a blur. Aaron asked Aphmau to move in with him, Zane helped him, and Gene got mad at me for staying with Zane that night. I ended up exposing him for his lie. At first, he played dumb. But then he admitted it. That resulted in me breaking up with him and lots of tears from both ends, mostly mine. But I finally got that toxicity out of my life. But now where should I live?
