Three Months Earlier

Anita and the boys were standing at an art gallery, waiting for the director to finish his speech as he stood near a painting. Anita was tapping her foot on the floor, having places to be in about thirty minutes. Well, she and Sherlock had somewhere to be. It was date night and he promised no interruptions this time. Just her, him, and some crappy telly with takeout. Last date night, they had been interrupted by a person nearly dying at the nearby table. And the date night before that, they couldn't go because they were chasing some criminal through the streets of London.

"Falls of the Reichenbach, Turner's masterpiece, thankfully recovered owing to the prodigious talent of Mr. Sherlock Holmes," the director said as the patrons applauded. Then the director gave a small gift wrapped box to Sherlock.

"A small token of our gratitude," explained the director as Sherlock took the box and looked at it.

"Diamond cufflinks. All of my cuffs have buttons," he said.

"He means thank you," Anita said to the director with a smile.

"Do I?" Sherlock asked and Anita turned to him and raised an eyebrow.

"Just say it." Sherlock sighed and looked over at the director.

"Thank you," he said, clearly insincere. Sherlock then grabbed Anita's hand, prepared to walk away and enjoy a nice uninterrupted evening with her, but John held him back.

"Hey," John said and Sherlock unwillingly stopped and allowed the press to take photographs. Though his grip never loosened on Anita's hand and she never made any attempts to escape. Neither Anita nor Sherlock really minded if the press found out about their relationship, they had already told everyone that really mattered so it wasn't a big deal. Lestrade gave Sherlock a costmary 'You hurt her, you'll never see the light of day' speech; Mrs. Hudson nearly fainted from joy. Sherlock couldn't help but think of Anita's father the whole time Lestrade lectured him. On one of the few occasions Sherlock met her father, he had given Sherlock a whole big speech about love. Sherlock didn't know how her father knew before him, but it was one of his favorite memories from Uni.

Over a period of time, Sherlock became quite the celebrity. Every news cast would report on the cases that the three would solve, though they were all more focused on Sherlock then Anita and John. Anita didn't mind though, she didn't exactly love the press, so the more she stayed out of it the better.

One day, the trio was standing, uncomfortably, nearby a house where the man, who was a banker, they had rescued was standing with his arms around his wife and son. The press had shown up and began to film and photograph them.

"Back together with my family after my terrifying ordeal; and we have one person to thank for my deliverance- Sherlock Holmes," the man announced and the public applauded. The son smiled and offered a small box to Sherlock, who took it and proceeded to rattled it, briefly.

"Tie pin. I don't wear ties," Sherlock said to John and Anita. John shushed him while Anita just shook her head, though a small smile formed on her face. Sherlock saw this and smirked, proudly.

Later, the three of them were at Scotland Yard where Lestrade was addressing a press conference, about the man who had kidnapped the banker. Sherlock, John, and Anita were standing nearby and Anita noted that Donovan and Anderson were at the back of the room.

"Peter Ricolettie: number one on Interpol's Most Wanted list since 1982. But we got him; and there's one person we have to thank for giving us the decisive leads...with all of his customary diplomacy and tact!" Lestrade said as Sherlock smiled insincerely towards Lestrade. Anita moved a little closer to Sherlock's side and he glanced down at her momentarily, before looking back at Lestrade. Though he subconsciously moved closer to her as well. John leaned closer to the couple.
