Part 1 of the Kings Series.
Aiden brings me closer and wraps his hands around me, engulfing me in completely. He kisses my bandage on the forehead and I await a 'I'm sorry' but it never comes. He caresses my hair and rubs my back to comfort me. My...

As soon as he left the room, my knees snuck and I cried my heart out. He could easily kill me and dispose my body and no one would ever know. The piercing look in his eyes when he choked me made me want to kill myself. I had to get out of here as soon as possible or I was convinced I would be dead. Fearing that he could hurt me again if I wasn't dressed, I almost ran to the washroom. I wore the beautiful dress, it was plain white with a low neckline. It must've been very expensive, I thought. It hugged my curves and enhanced them. I wore the pearl earrings and the necklace and boy, did I look different. I didn't care about the dress or the earrings because he cannot buy me with his money. He was a psychopath and a murderer. I gasped as I thought about how many lives he must have taken. Our town was notorious for gangs and the mafia. Although the area we lived in was quite peaceful and safe, downtown was the main problem. But he doesn't look like someone from there, I thought. The people who lived downtown were notorious for small robberies and child kidnapping. But this man, he killed more than fifty people in one night in plain sight with witnesses. Was he what I was thinking he was? San Rodiez was the rich area of our town and that's where Justin resided. When it comes to the rich, it also has secrets. There was a lot of talk in the town about a gang called The Kings. They were not to be messed with. They owned the whole town and their word was law. The Kings were the Mafia. Guns, drugs, trafficking and blood was their life. I had heard many stories about The Kings and how they never gave a second chance. But this was years back. They disappeared for five years after the death of their leader. Everyone thought that left town or left the business. Could he be working for them? Are they back?
I had so many questions and it was bothering me. I wanted to go and slap him and make him confess everything but I knew I would be digging my own grave. I opened the door and I met with a beautiful hallway. It seemed as if I was in a palace. My mouth was open as I admired it all, I was ogling.
"Ma'am, please follow me", said a voice behind me. I looked back to see one of his men standing. Before I could reply, he started walking away. I followed him because I didn't want to late. God knows what he will do if I don't reach within ten minutes. We walked down the staircase and we met with the lobby. We took a left turn and we entered the dining room.
I entered and much to my dismay, there he was, sitting at the head of the table. He had a glass of scotch and dinner in front of him. He looked up at me and he looked all over my body, his gaze fixating on my breasts for a moment to my face. No emotions. I couldn't read him. I didn't know what he was thinking. He signaled me to come and sit next to him. I moved towards the chair and I sat down, anticipating his next move. I looked at the food in front of me and I realized I was very hungry.
"Eat", he simply said.
I wasn't going to eat until I found out where my friends are. I couldn't care less about food and wine right now. I looked back at him and with all the courage I could find I said, "Where are my friends?". I saw a smile at the corner of his lips for a second but immediately he got his stern face back. "Eat", he simply said and started sipping from his glass. He is so annoying, I thought to myself. I gazed towards him and I realized how beautiful he was. I could see his features more clearly, his face was carved to perfection, it seemed. His eyes were very intriguing, a mystery perhaps. Muscular stance and his aura screamed dominance and order. His hair was a bit wet, probably he went for a shower before. His fingers clutched the glass and I noticed him wearing two silver rings. I wondered how they would feel against my - "Eat", he repeated and interrupted my thoughts. I shuddered a bit and looked at my plate. Fruits and pancakes, just how I like it. I wanted to devour all of it but right now, this wasn't important. He cannot tear me down and not answer my questions. I need to know where my friends are. If they're in danger, I need to help them.
I took a huge breath and asked him sweetly, "Can you please tell me where my friends are?" and I tried to control my anger. He has all the answers. I can't let him win.
"For the last fucking time, I'm telling you to eat your food, Bellissima or I'll shove it down your throat and it won't be nice", he said slamming his whisky glass on the table.
I couldn't control my anger anymore. I stood up and yelled, "I will not eat your goddamn food, you psychopath. Let me go right now!!! You murdered the full fucking club last night and you expect me to eat on the same table with you? Knowing that your hands are full of blood? I hate you. And who the fuck has whisky for breakfast, you should go to an asylum." I was breathless after I yelled out these words and as soon as I was done, I realized my mistake. He looked crazy right now, his nose flaring and eyes fuming. If looks could kill, I would be dead in a heartbeat. I started shivering on the spot and started looking for any place to hide. As soon as I turned around to run, he reached out for me by the back of my neck and slammed me into the wall. My head banged against the wall and I blacked out for some seconds. He was choking me yet again, this time his rings pressing into my neck, making imprints on my skin. I felt my throat tightening and as much as I tried to get him off me, it was a waste. He towered over me completely, I couldn't even give him a scratch. His one hand held both my hands in the tightest grip. " Don't. You. Ever. Raise. Your. Voice. At. Me". he demanded. His face was centimeters away from mine. His eyes were black, like charcoal and I could see the desire in them. "If I don't see you eating your food in the next five seconds, Antonio will blast up your parent's house. And don't think for a second I won't do that, Bellissima. I don't tolerate disrespect. From anyone. The choice is yours"
I started crying profusely, tears started pouring down. He was threatening me. I have no doubt he would not do that. A man who can kill 50 people and not care, 2 people would be a piece of cake for him. "You can't", I whisper. "Please."
He loosened his grip and backed away. "5..." "4..." "3..."
I made a beeline for the table and sat down and stuffed the pancake in my mouth. I was a mess, a total mess. I didn't know where I was, I don't know where my friends are, I don't know this man who is probably the most dangerous and influential man in this city. I don't know what to do. I don't want to be under his mercy.
He walked back slowly to his chair and sat down. I refused to look up at him. I could hear him call someone from his phone. "Back away", he said and put the phone down.
I looked up at him and he smiled. A real smile.
I got goosebumps.
