Our Happily Ever After

Laurance's POV:

What. Just. Happened? She just compared me to Ivan. I facepalmed myself.

"Great job Laurance.", I muttered to myself.

I ran over to the door to see if she could still be there. Nope, she wasn't. I went to where to keys should be and used them to lock to doors.

'She said something about going to Aphmau's with Kim so maybe I can catch up.', I thought to myself.

I found my way to Aph and Aaron's and knocked.

"Coming!", I heard Aaron call out.

"Oh hey Laurance.", he greeted.

"Hey, umm.. is Lucinda here?", I asked looking above his shoulder.

"Yeah..., she seemed kinda..., upset.", he told me, "She's in the living room with my father and Kim now though."

"Oh great! Can you ask her if I could speak with her?"

"Sure.", he said giving me 'the look'.

"It's nothing like that Aaron. She's just..., SUPER upset right now."

"Oh, then..., be careful about what you tell her. I don't think we want a dead body on our doorstep.", he said then walking away to call her.

"What do you want?", she asked when she got to the door with her arms folded.

"If you don't want your keys then I can keep them you know.", I said giving her back the same sass and holding the keys out in front of her.

"And you know that's a terrible way to start apologising to someone you upset.", she said grabbing the keys.

"Yeah about that."

"Yeah, can we not talk about this. Like ever. Right now I've wasted enough time and I'm going to be late."

"Well, I want to talk about it and what happened to thinking it over?!"

"Well I did. And I'm still going, without an escort.", she said about to walk back inside.

"Lucinda.", I called back, "Think about this. Why would Ivan want you to come alone?"

"To apologise dummy! How do you think it would go if I had other people with me?! It would be awkward. I have to go Laurance. Now please just go."

"Fine...", I said hanging my head down, "Just, be careful.", I said walking away to my house, hand in my pockets.

"Oh hey Laurance! What's... is everything okay?", Garroth asked when I entered.

"Yeah, just a bit under the weather."

"A bit?! Laurance! You look like a girl just rejected you in the worse way possible!"

I looked up and him, "It's nothing Garroth."

"No. It's not nothing. You're going to come here, sit down and tell me what's wrong.", he said pulling me towards the couched.

Plopped down on it not giving a crap about what's happening.

"Now speak."

"It's nothing-"

"No! Laurance your my best friend and if you don't tell me now I'm going to tell Lucinda you have a crush on her!"

"W-what!?", I jumped up.

"See, I knew it. You have a crush Laurance!", he said dancing around the room.

"Honestly, I don't think she would care. It would just make things worse.", I said slumping back in the couch.

"Huh? Why?", he asked and he stopped dancing.

I then told him about our fight and how she compared me to Ivan and stuff like that.

"Well, what are you waiting for?", I asked me sitting on the stool he brought beside me.

"Huh? I just said that I tried apologising but she didn't want to hear it."

"No not that! If you think that Ivan is up to something you should go and make sure nothing happens to Lucinda!", he said dragging me off the couch.

"But she said-"

"'But she said', no buts Laurance! You gotta make sure she's alright, no matter what she says!", he told me pushing me through the door.

"Now go! I am sending you out into the world!", he yelled.

"Garroth! I'm not a bear cub! You can't send me out into the world like that! This is my house too!"

"You're right. But you're not coming back until you know for sure Lucinda is safe! Now Shoo!", he said slamming the door.

"Okay then. I guess I'm off."
