Mechanics Of The Heart - A JJ Hamblett & Josh Cuthbert fanfic. (Union J)

Laura's POV:

One year later.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" Shouted everyone as I blew the candles to my incredibly, tall white cake with black flowers printed on it. I blushed, walking towards JJ, who was smiling at me. He was wearing navy coloured tuxedo with a tie. His hair was a little messed up but I liked it that way. Some of his hair, sticking out on his forehead, making his light brown eyes stand out.

JJ had his arms behind him as I approached him. He loosens his arms and pulls me close to him, our body pressing onto each other. I looked down, placing my head onto his chest.

"Happy birthday Laura," He whispered as he kissed my forehead. 

"I'm getting old," JJ laughed.

"Old? You're 21!" He grinned. I giggled, leaning my head onto his chest. His chest felt so warm and cuddly. I could hear his heart, beating faster and faster as I inhale. JJ began stroking my hair.

"HEY BIRTHDAY GIRL!" Shouted Jasmine. I turned around to Jasmine. I smiled, hugging her. JJ's arms were wrapped around my waist as Jasmine hands me a present. I shake the present a little. 

"Jasmine you shouldn't have!" 

"Shut up! You'll love it!" She replied laughing. I laughed back. JJ chuckled too looking down, smiling shyly. I glanced at him as he lifts his head up and leans closer to my ear, sending shivers through my spine.

"I'll be right back, troublemaker," He whispered. I nodded as he walked towards the doors of Jaymi's and Olly's mansion. Jaymi and Olly surprisingly, organised my birthday in their mansion. I told them they didn't had to but they didn't listen.  They said they owed me since I was the one who suggested to organise their wedding.

I watched JJ, placing his hands into his pockets, walking casually like he's some sort of a model. I grinned, feeling the necklace I was wearing. It was the necklace JJ gave me, 'JJ loves Laura' I never took it off.

"Where's George?" I asked looking over Jasmine's shoulder. Jasmine sighed.

"I dumped him." She breathed out.

"What? Why?" I was shocked.

"Well you know we're just taking a break. Don't worry Laura." She said rubbing my shoulder. I felt bad for Jasmine. I know for few months she's been having trust issues with George but I thought they'll give in eventually with the fighting. 

Jasmine breathed in and pulled a fake smile. I knew she was trying to avoid the whole George situation but I just hated seeing her like this. Jasmine was the bubbly, happy girl we all knew. I sighed. 

"Well I'm going to eat some of your cake." She winked and walked off. I glanced at George, who I suddenly spotted drinking. I walked up to him.

"George," I patted his shoulder. George turned to me, smiling at me.

"Happy Birthday," He said, rubbing my arm. 

"Thanks and erm. Jasmine wants you," I lied. George fell for it and nodded walking up to Jasmine. I grinned as he started talking to Jasmine. They both suddenly snapped their heads at me. I waved nervously as they both giggled. I watched them continue talking. Mission accomplished! 

I walked to the large table where all the presents were kept and placed Jasmine's present on the table. 

"Happy birthday," Said a familiar voice. I turned around smiling at Josh who was holding a present. 

"Thanks. You didn't had to. It's really big hope you didn't go through too much trouble," I said as he hands me the large present. I place the present on the table, turning back to him. Josh smirked.

"Emily bugged me to get it," He laughed. Emily is Josh's girlfriend. They've been together for quite a while now. Some say they're serious with their relationship. I'm so glad Josh is happy because part of me felt gutted when I dumped him last year. 

I looked over Josh's shoulder and waving at Emily who was talking to Jaymi. She waved back. Emily was a little shorter than Josh but she's really cute. She has short blond hair with a fringe and extremely outstanding blue eyes. 

"Well I gotta go. Enjoy your party," Said Josh. I smiled, hugging him.

"Will do," I chuckled. 

I walked around the party feeling lost. I wonder where JJ is?

"Madam?" Spoke a waiter, holding a silver tray.

"Yes?"

"Master Hamblett ordered for you to meet him outside the mansion, underneath an arch," He said, pointing at the back door. 

"Um ok thanks," I nodded. I walked out of the mansion. Shivering. I wonder why JJ called me underneath an arch? 

I spotted far back a little open hall underneath an arch which was filled with different flowers. I smiled walking down a long sort of an aisle. I gasped. The long road/aisle was filled with different rose petals. The petals were leading it's way to the open hall. Different colours of them spreading through the aisle. I grinned walking over to them slowly. As I reached the open hall, I stared at JJ grinning at me. 

"Did you do all this?" I asked, walking up to him. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me close to him. 

"Yes baby," He replied. I grinned snuggling onto him for a hug. He pressed his arms making the hug tighter. I didn't mind at all. Just being in his arms was the thing that counted. He pulled away, beginning to stroke my cheeks making my shiver once again. "So beautiful. You feel like a fire that burns into my heart," He whispered. I blushed instantly. JJ always comes up with these cute cheesy lines.

"Happy birthday," He said handing me a rose. It wasn't just a normal rose. It was different. It was a red and white rose with golden leaves on the stem.

"Where did you get this?" I asked smiling at JJ.

"From my heart," He replied tapping his chest. I rolled my eyes. 

I notice JJ looking down, smiling shyly, his hands in his trouser pockets. I looked down at the rose and that's when I spotted. I golden ring with a diamond heart shape stone at the top. I held the ring. JJ walked towards me, taking the ring of my hand. He bends down with his knee. I giggle. Oh my gosh. JJ laughs shyly, looking down. I grin at him as he holds the ring up, holding my hand.

"Laura. Will you let me cherish our love forever? Will you accept me as the one and only man in your life? Will you...will you marry me?" He asked. I couldn't believe and stop grinning like an idiot. I nodded.

"Yes," I replied. JJ grin, sliding the ring into my finger. He stood up and picked me up, twirling me around as he kisses my lips. He pulled away, placing his hand on my neck then slowly brushing it to my cheek, cupping his hand onto my cheek, stroking it with his thumb once again as I close my eyes. He leaned his forehead onto mine. I opened my eyes feeling his minty warm breath fanning my face. Our nose touching.

"We will be together for-"

"Eternity," I finish the sentence.
