Httyd SPELL BOUND ?

Below the Ocean

"Sounds like a dragon in trouble. Not too far from here."

Hiccup and Oakley jumped onto their dragons, shortly followed by Fishlegs and Heather. Snotlout and the Twins were still trying to process the information.

"Lead the way." The Haddocks requested.

The riders raced over the ocean, following Astrid and Stormfly.

"Down there!" Astrid pointed to a spot in the ocean, a few yards from one of the ships.

Oakley wasted no time, darting into the sea.

"OAK!" Her brother shrieked.

"Hiccup don't!" Astrid halted. "She knows what she's doing."

StarGazer soon emerged from the waters.

"Anything?" Fishlegs wondered.

"Seashocker." Oakley rasped out as she caught her breath. "Net... dragon proof."

"Hunters?"

"Looks like it." The brunette confirmed. "I couldn't hold my breath long enough to get a good look."

"Too bad so sad." Snotlout muttered. "Can we go? Those giant eels could be here any second."

"We're not leaving Snotlout." Oakley scowled. "We're saving that dragon."

"But, how?" Fishlegs thought. "We don't have any Changewing acid."

"Maybe we don't need it." Astrid thought as she gazed down at her hands.

"Astrid, no way!" Oakley declined. "It's too dangerous!"

"Oak, your powers may be the only way to free this dragon. I can hold my breath for twice as long and I might be able to melt the metal."

"The dragon would zap you before you got the chance." She warned. "It has to be me."

"That's just as dangerous." Hiccup mentioned.

"Hiccup, the dragon won't hurt me. I just need to find a way to open the chains without magic."

"We can go together." Astrid insisted. "There is no way I'm letting you go down there alone."

"Fine. But the first sign of trouble and you get yourself out. Deal?" Oakley offered.

"Deal."

The riders stationed themselves on the nearest ship.

"Okay, remember the plan?" Oakley checked with Astrid as they prepared themselves. "I'll distract the seashocker while you melt the chains. He's not too deep so we'll work one chain at a time. Guys, if we don't come up for air after three minutes..."

"Something's wrong, get you out." Hiccup finished for her. "Don't worry, we will."

"Okay, Astrid. Now would be a good time to get mad." Oakley suggested.

"I thought your firepower didn't work underwater?" Fishlegs remembered.

"It doesn't," Oakley confirmed with a nod. "But, if I'm right. We won't need it."

"Care to explain?" Hiccup wondered.

Oakley sauntered over towards a dragon-proof cage on the other side of the ship.

"Barf, Belch. Care to help me demonstrate?" The Zippleback waddled into the cage willingly, knowing what was happening. Oakley closed the cage door and grabbed Astrid by the wrist and closed her hand around the bar before taking a few paces back.

"Remember what I told you." The brunette suggested. Astrid nodded and closed her eyes and after a few short seconds, the bar began to melt as a glowing green goo dripped from her hand.

"Acid?" Fishlegs gasped as Astrid shook the goo from her hand.

"Eww. This stuff is gross." She groaned.

"That stuff... is what's gonna save that Seashocker." Oakley reminded. "Now, let's go."

"Oak..." Astrid pulled the brunette away from the group and whispered. "I thought you couldn't swim?"

"It can't be that hard." She replied. "I know what you're trying to do because it's what I would do but Astrid, you can't free that dragon without a distraction. So let's go."

The young couple swam, hand in hand, to the frightened dragon, who was thrashing around frantically trying to escape. Oakley did her best to calm him down while Astrid made her way around the back to melt the first chain.

It was only a couple of minutes before both girls poked their heads up and took a deep gasp of air. Astrid held tightly to Oakley to keep her up. Turns out, swimming was harder than Oakley thought.

"One down, two to go." The brunette explained. The riders on the ship all nodded before they dove under the ocean's surface once again.

Oakley once again served as a distraction while Astrid melted the second chain, Oakley started to lose focus on the world around her, she slowly started sinking as the world faded to black.

Astrid dove down and grasped her by the waist tugging her back up to the ship, she passed her girlfriend up to the riders who tugged her up as the blonde dove back down to melt the third and final chain.
