Rolling out of bed with a groan, you checked your phone and realized you actually woke up before your alarm. After a quick shower and change of clothes, you attempted to get a productive start to your day. Without Law there, you didn't have to worry about finding your backpack squashed under him, or papers missing - though part of you did find it cute when he went out of his way just to get your attention.
Waddling into the kitchen, your eyes caught something weird on the counter.
A...panda bear bento box? It kind of reminded you of Bepo.
There was a piece of paper attached to it with messy, doctor handwriting that you could hardly decode.
(F/n)-ya,
I'll be out with my pack for the morning. I know you've got a long day so I made you this lunch to make sure you eat something. Don't you dare forget to bring it with you, or else I'll hand deliver it while you're in class...as much as you'd probably like that. Take that stupid smile off your face, and don't even think about it. Now eat your breakfast in the fridge.
I'll see you tonight, love
Law
The way the ending was written scrunched at the bottom made it appear as though he called you love, or perhaps he meant 'love, Law'. Either way, he wrote 'love', and your heart was swelling. Above that, you were mostly glad he didn't leave without a word again.
Peeking into the fridge, you found the breakfast sandwich he made you - even though he hated bread. It made you smile. You heated up the sandwich in the microwave while you packed your backpack. Some extra snacks made their way in there since you had a late shift right after classes without much of a break in between. The thought of earning your own laptop after this was enough of an incentive to bear the long shift, and snacks would definitely help along the way.
Locking up the apartment with the sandwich in your mouth, you nearly coughed it out when you turned around and bumped into somebody.
"Yo, watch it."
Catching your sandwich from falling, you looked up at the certain somebody and sighed. "Sorry, Kid," you apologized to the red haired man, but he didn't seem as miffed as usual. He just adjusted his backpack and stepped away to give you space.
"Eh, whatever. You feelin' alright?"
His concern for you was still something you'd have to adjust to, especially since he didn't appear to have any other motives. As you walked down the stairs and to campus together, you told him about what he didn't see the night before. You made sure to emphasize the part where you nearly knocked Doflamingo out cold with Sabo's pipe.
"Damn, you're almost as reckless as Luffy," Kid let out a low laugh.
"Considering he's an alpha, I'll take that as a compliment!" You quipped, then finished the last bit of the sandwich Law made for you.
"Speaking of alphas," Kid continued, and you froze up a little. You didn't mention any of what Doflamingo told you about Law. Even if Kid already knew about Law's past, it wasn't up to you to bring it up. At least not quite yet.
"How's the boyfriend?" He asked, coming to a stop since it was almost time for you to part ways to different classes.
The title made you blush a little, but at least Kid seemed more respectful of your boundaries now by acknowledging who Law was to you.
"I can tell he's really tired. He seems to be healing up well, though. So...thank you for having Chopper come."
Kid nodded, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, well. Sometimes he's a pain in my ass, and I know I'm an ass sometimes, but it's not fun messing with him if he can't fight back, y'know."
