Missing Home

"How are you so good at this?" Boscha asked in awe at Lucia's speed. The adult was reading two reports and making subtle changes quickly. Months possibly years worth of work gone in a few hours.

"How are you so bad at this?" Lucia countered pointing at the report in Boscha's hands. The teen was still trying to figure out a solution to the food scarcity problem in winter.

"Well it's complicated. If we have a bad crop then we won't have enough food for winter." Boscha stated as she read the report. "But since we are in the main city it won't affect us. But the outer colonies will starve to death."

"Use plant magic." Lucia said.

"Plants made with plant magic is poisonous in large doses." Boscha countered. 

"Hrmm, then make rotations every harvest between vined, soil and root vegetables." Lucia replied. "Use plant magic sparingly and make sure to have the boxes properly labeled. Finally use ice magic to deep freeze the crops until we need them.

Boscha thought for a second. "That... could work" Boscha began. "But even if we use a rotational system it doesn't account for transport to the outer colonies.

"Just fly." Lucia said simply.

"There would be too much weight to fly." Boscha retorted.

"Tie a bunch of witches together and make them fly as one unit."

Boscha paused then blinked. "That sounds unbelievably stupid. But... It could work if we use the Royal Air Force."  The teen got lost in thought and began pulling books from the shelf. Flipping them open as she read up on different topics. Eventually Boscha scribbled down her instructions and put them on the transporter. The machine then teleported instructions and new laws to the Council to be implemented to the public.

"So how did you get this job?" Lucia asked as Boscha began working on another problem. As much as Lucia made fun of the three eyed demon, she was fairly good at her job. She was focused and found solutions outside of the box. Even if she took a while.

"I did this kind of stuff for Student Council." Boscha replied.

"You solved food scarcity in Student Council?" Lucia asked with a laugh.

"Have you been in a high school? Good food is impossible to find."

The two shared a laugh.

"So why doesn't anyone else help you?" Lucia asked as she went back into their work.

"Luz, Willow and Gus suck at paperwork and Amity goes through withdraw if she's away from Luz for too long." Boscha replied as she picked up a new bill.

"And Skara?" Lucia asked.

"Skara is...." Boscha trailed off. "Skara can't do paper work, not having eyes makes it difficult."

"Well duh, but isn't there magic to fix that?" Lucia asked now fully invested in unlocking Skara's backstory. "How did she go blind anyways? I'm almost positive she wasn't born blind."

"Well Skara.." Boscha began.

"You do know Skara is Blind not Deaf right?" Interrupted an amused voice.

Both heads snapped to the door. Skara stood with a tray in her hands. Snacks and drinks loaded on.

"Here let me..." Boscha said as she went towards the teen, the three eyed demon reached for the tray.

"Bosh, I'm Blind not useless. I don't need you to baby me." Skara replied dodging around the three eyed girl. Skara made her way to Lucia and handed her a cup.

"Coffee?" Lucia said surprised.

"Boiling Isles Coffee but yes." Skara replied sliding a sugar pot and milk cartoon to Lucia. "Here Bosh." Skara said throwing a bag of chips at the girl. "We still have class tomorrow, don't work too late." Skara handed Boscha a cup of coffee before she waltzed out the door.

"So... Paperwork?" Lucia asked the three eyed girl.

"Yeah sounds good."
