"Hey, look."
Spencer stated, pointing across the restaurant. As Sydney turned her head, he stole a piece of bacon off her plate, quickly eating it. She turned back, immediately noticing the missing piece.
"Dude!"
He laughed, suddenly coughing as he choked.
"And you thought karma would miss you." She teased, taking a piece of his omelette.
"Come on, you gotta admit that was kinda smart."
"Ha ha, you're not funny."
He continued laughing, shaking his head.
"Okay. I will get you more bacon."
She smiled, lightly clapping. Spencer's smile dropped as he laid eyes on Corey approaching.
"You're a hard man to track down these days."
"Clearly not that hard.."
The father and son stared at each other. Corey acknowledged Sydney, ignoring the breakfast between the two.
"Big game this week." He started.
"No disrespect but we're kind of in the middle of something." Spencer told him.
"No, yeah. I'm meeting someone so.."
Corey nodded, glancing at Sydney and waving goodbye. He walked to the other side of the restaurant, greeting one of his old teammates.
"Hey, uh, can we get some extra bacon to go and the check? Thank you."
Back at home, Sydney's happy mood from her breakfast date had quickly turned sour. Her parents stood before her, telling her, in her opinion, some dramatic news.
"So, you're just leaving? Riding off into the sunset with another man?" She questioned, glaring at her mother.
"Sydney, stop." Lauren demanded, glancing at Roman..
"No! Are you kidding me? First, dad has his issues and now this."
"I am not leaving you, babygirl." Lauren calmly spoke, taking a few steps toward her.
"Might as well! I mean, come on. Does anyone think about me?" Sydney huffed, moving away.
"Of course we do." Lauren replied, looking to Roman to join in.
He simply stared at her.
"Of course he has nothing to say, he never does! No one thinks that this is crazy? I mean, come on, mom. You guys are smarter than that."
"I understand you're upset but we are still your parents. Sit down." Lauren sternly stated.
"No. I was, actually, just leaving."
"Oh, so you think you're grown? The phone and keys, run 'em. I will not tolerate the disrespect."
Sydney looked to her father for help, he simply stared at her, not uttering a word.
