The Other Half of Me 《Marcelee》

I was very happy when the portal was fixed. I can finally get to see Marcy every day. I was happy because not even separate worlds can separate us. And I know, we are going to make our own world, our own universe inside ourselves.

For the first time in a long time, I was happy. In fact, I still am, and as long as I'm with her, I always will be.

For five months, we have been going out. But I sensed she was still a bit shy, still uncomfortable. But in her own way, she still showed me that she loves me. But I understood, maybe she needed time.

I did everything to make her smile. The way she lifts the corners of her mouth, creating that curve on her lips is just... Oh man, I can't even explain. She's beautiful beyond words.

I was like a kid in a toy store. After a long time of not seeing her, I was very excited to do some catching up, surprises, talks. Pretty much everything involving her. Everytime I see her, I unconciously smile a goofy smile. I lose my cool demeanor and suddenly go all squishy soft inside.

One day at 4 in the afternoon, I went over to her house. The other guys, Gumball, Fiona, Cat, Flame Prince, they to visited Ooo almost everyday. Getting the portal fixed was really a good thing for both worlds.

Anyway, this day was very special. Well, all days are special when I'm with her, but this was just above the rest.

"Did you bring 'em?" She asked excitedly as she opened the door.

"Of course," I chuckled. She's so cute. I handed her the bag of strawberries I bought earlier that day.

"Thank you Marshall!" She said in a jolly tone. She grabbed the bag and let me in. "So Bonnie announced earlier that there is going to be a celestial alignment this evening. Are you going to watch? They'll be gathering on Finn's treehouse top." She asked.

"That would be great. We should watch it." I casually said.

"I wasn't planning, actually. I'm not in the mood to be with so many people right now." She pressed her lips into a hard line as she looked randomly on the floor.

"Well, why not?" I asked.

"I don't know. I just feel like it."

"Well. Would it be okay if we just watch the alignment outside your house? Just you and me."

She paused for a second and stared at me like I had just asked her to marry me. She blushed, unable to speak.

"You don't have to say yes if you don't want to, I mean ---"

"No no no no no, it's okay, I-I-I'd like to watch the alignment with you." She cut me off as she stuttered.

"You sure it's okay?" I assured.

"Yeah. It's just fun having you around." She said as she smiled that cute smile. And at this moment, I can't help but smile too.

"Anyway, it starts at 7 pm." She cut off the silence.

"That's 3 hours from now. What do you want to do for the next 3 hours?" I asked, curious.

"I woke up this afternoon knowing this is going to be a lazy day so I didn't make any plans." She said as she threw herself to the couch.

I chuckled. She is very cute.

"You lazy pig." I teased as I flew next to the couch she's sitting on and she laughed.

"I'm sure even you have experienced such mornings where you wake up and just go 'nope' and roll back to bed, Vampire King!"

I laughed in defeat as I placed the strawberries into a bowl on the center table.

So that was pretty much the whole three hours. Drinking the red from strawberries and talking, laughing, watching a movie.

I looked at the clock and it read 6:54.

"It's almost 7. Let's go outside." I told her. She nodded and smiled in response.

We picked up the inervated strawberries scattered around the table, some in the bowl, and placed them back into the plastic bag. I threw the bag into the trash bin.

"Let's go?" I smiled and stuck my hand out, waiting for her to hold it. Shyly she smiled and held my hand.

She held my hand and it tickled my heart.

The sensation I feel when she holds my hand is something I hunger for every day. I never want to let her go.

We flew out of her house, out of the cave, and into the plain. The air was fresh and cool. The ambiance was relaxing. A cool breeze blew as we flew. We stopped and sat on the grass.

After a few moments, the night sky started to light up. We sat silently, no words were uttered, but my heart was wild. I feel alive when I'm with her. We were less than a foot apart. The cold air kept brushing our skins as we looked at the aurora. I looked at her as she looked at the sky.

"It's beautiful," I broke the silence, "but not as beautiful as you. The skies can't compare to your beauty. Your eyes put the stars to shame."

She smiled. I couldn't help but smile too.

"Stop it Marshall," she chuckled as she looked down.

I moved closer, close enough that her right shoulder rests the left side of my chest.

"I will never stop, Marcy. I love you."

Silence filled the atmosphere. She was shy, I could tell by the look on her face.

"Marceline. People have searched their whole lives looking for what I found in your eyes. You and only you could make me feel this way. It hurts when you're not around, I'd hunger for your presence.

And it makes me weak, I go all soft inside when I see you. It's even very ironic how you are my strength, how you make me stronger yet I grow weak at the sight of you.

Marceline, I love you so much. You are my moon and all my stars. I couldn't imagine my life if I haven't met you. You turned my world upside down. Glob, words can't even explain..."

I held her left cheek and gently pulled so that her lips met mine. I felt her placing her hand on my face. We kissed under the natural light display.

I pulled back slowly and looked at her in the eyes.

"Marceline, will you be my girlfriend?"

"Yes Marshall, yes!" She said with that beautiful smile.

I hugged her tightly. "You make me very happy, Marcy." I felt my breath trembling as I was overflowing with joy. It was like the world stopped at that moment, and suddenly the universe was revolving around us. I swear I could have cried tears of joy. "I love you, Marceline."

"I love you too, Marshall."
