y/n's pov-
i'm walking into school looking for my best friend, lauren. usually we walk to school together but today she drove.
i started looking for her but i could see someone run up to me out of the corner of my eye. i looked over to see lauren's long brown hair and her new glasses that framed her face perfectly.
"y/n!! guess what i just heard!" she practically screamed at me once she got close enough.
"stop screaming, everyone can hear you." i laughed a little at her shocked expression.
"oh sorry. but there's a new kid! and everyone is saying he's super cute. i've been looking for him all morning." lauren said as she continued looking around the front of the school.
"ok clearly he isn't here. maybe he's in our first period. which we have to go to by the way, like now."
i grabbed her arm and pulled her with me.
we continued talking on our way to our class, occasionally saying hi to some other people.
as we walked into our first period i heard lauren gasp quietly and i looked over at what she was looking at.
i'm assuming it's the new kid and honestly he was really attractive.
"let's sit by him c'mon." lauren whispered to me as she grabbed my arm and pulled me over to him.
lauren sat in front of him and i sat next to him since those were the only seats not occupied.
lauren turned around in her seat and immediately introduced herself.
"hi! my names lauren. your new right?"
"oh uh yeah i'm new. my names louis."
i took this as my chance to introduce myself.
"hi, i'm y/n. did you just move here?" he looked over at me and surprisingly he didn't seem nervous or anything.
"yeah i just moved down the street from here."
louis pointed in the direction of the street me and lauren live on.
lauren and i made eye contact before looking back at louis.
"we live there too! we could show you around some time." lauren exclaimed happily.
before louis or i could say anything the teacher started class and told everyone to stay silent.
time skip
it's lunch time and i've only seen louis once after first period. me and lauren saw him while we were walking to our other class and he waved to us. he was walking with someone else so i'm assuming he's already made friends.
me and lauren are sitting at our usual table and i saw louis walking towards us.
"ok lauren don't look but louis is walking towards our table." i tried to whisper to lauren so she had some preparation before louis come over.
"oh shit." lauren muttered to herself before quickly fixing her hair and asking me if she had any food in her teeth.
louis walked over and sat next to me.
"hi louis." i said as he sat down.
"hey y/n, lauren." louis replied as he looked at both of us.
"so do you guys walk home?"
"yeah usually, do you?" lauren replied probably hoping we can walk home with him.
"uh yeah, can i walk with you guys?"
oh god.
"yeah sure we'll meet you outside after school." i smiled at louis before i continued eating my lunch.
we all continued talking and louis was really funny and we all got along pretty well. lauren kept asking about the guy he was walking with earlier so i'm assuming she's over the little crush she had on louis.
eventually we all went our separate ways for our next class.
time skip again lol
me and lauren are outside waiting for louis so we could walk home with him.
"oh there he is. oh my god and he's talking to the cute guy!!" lauren pointed over at louis and i saw him talking with the same guy lauren was asking about at lunch.
when i looked at louis we made eye contact and he said something to his friend and walked towards us.
"you ready?" i asked louis as he got closed enough to us. he nodded, signaling he was ready and we all started walking.
louis was on the outside of the sidewalk, i was in the middle and lauren was on the inside.
me and louis' hands kept accidentally touching while we were walking. i could feel a blush rise to my cheeks each time. louis didn't seem to mind since he would never move his hand.
a little bit later me and louis' hands kept touching constantly, and it was getting a little annoying but i was used to it at this point. it's also rude to ask someone to move over so i just dealt with it.
but louis seemed to be feeling the same way since he suddenly let out a small sigh and then he held my hand. i looked down at our now conjoined hands and back up at louis.
he smiled at me and shrugged before whispering,
"it was getting annoying."
i smiled back at him and turned to lauren to continue our conversation.
we walked up to lauren's house and she hugged us both. before going inside she asked louis is he could put in a good word for her with his friend.
he laughed a little and agreed that he would. she entered her house and me and louis continued walking.
i was expecting him to let go of my hand since there was more room on the sidewalk now but instead louis squeezed my hand and kept walking.
eventually we got to my house and louis said his was the one right next to mine.
"we're neighbors now!!" i said to louis in excitement.
"now we can walk to school together too." louis smiled at me.
me and louis hugged as a goodbye but before i walked up to my house louis grabbed my hand again to get my attention.
"thanks for showing me around today." he said as he pulled me back to him.
"oh yeah of course! it was fun." i replied with a smile.
i was about to walk away to my door but louis whispered in my ear,
"i didn't think i would meet the prettiest girl on my first day."
before i could respond louis was already walking to his house.
before he closed his door he looked at me with a huge smile and winked.
you could see a small blush on his face and i could definitely feel the blush on mine.
