Leaving the shop, Lisa smiled while walking in front of me as we crossed the street and went up to what I assumed was her car. It was a black Audi auto which looked like it was well taken care of. She opened the door for me, and she went around to the driver's.
"Okay, I don't wanna be rude or what. But what do you do for a living?" I asked, very amazed.
Lisa laughed, "I'm unemployed,"
My eyes widened, and I was trying not to laugh or whatever. But that was just a news, "Sorry?"
"I'm unemployed. Currently living off my inheritance."
"Well, that must be a huge inheritance."
Lisa laughed as she pulled the car out of the parking and started driving, "Not much exactly. My mom's a teacher and my dad's a lawyer. They died, sadly."
"I'm sorry." I said, ashamed I brought that topic up.
"Don't be."
The rest of the ride was just me jamming up to whatever was playing on her stereo. She would ask answers from time to time such as, "How long have you been working in the shop?"
"About two years now. Just saving up for law school." I explained.
"You're going to law school? That's amazing,"
"Not really. I'm like a few years late already." I said.
"That doesn't matter, what matters is your headed right there."
When we pulled up on one of the restaurants that was packed, I looked at Lisa as if trying to ask if we were actually going to eat in a packed resto and wait for hours before we get our food served.
She laughed at my look, "Don't worry, I know the owner."
I nodded and followed her in as we managed to make our way inside one of the VIP rooms. Opening the doors, Jisoo and Rosie was seated while chatting over something and Rosie was already laughing her ass off.
"Hi guys!" Rosie smiled when she finally spotted us and we took our seat across them, "We ordered for you. Jennie, I ordered the best in the house just to thank you for helping Lisa realize how bad Sehun was."
I laughed, "You shouldn't be thanking me about that really. I was just pissed off him."
"Aren't we all?" Jisoo added and we laughed, "Jennie, I am so sorry for what I said yesterday. I was just so drunk and wasn't thinking straight. I don't intend any insult."
"No worries, Jisoo. I understand."
"Why did you leave Jin behind, though?" Rosie asked while sipping on the lemonade.
"I just don't date. It was one of my co-workers set up." I tried explaining.
"You don't date?" It was Lisa's turn to ask.
I giggled a bit, "Nah. It's just too complicated. I have a lot in my plate." Lie, total lie. I'm a coward, that's what.
Lunch went well. The food was savory, heck I didn't even watch the price. Since surely this shit cost more likely my monthly earning.
The place was actually owned by Lisa's friend, TEN. Her childhood friend she said. He dropped by midway lunch and said hi before leaving. Jisoo was an accountant, while Rosie was actually a flight attendant. They both shared that they have been pushing Lisa to pursue architecture like she wanted, but Lisa was just chill about the topic.
"She's just rubbing it off our faces that she's rich, ya know?" Rosie rolled her eyes.
"Hope her money runs out when she turns 50." Jisoo added.
I laughed while Lisa just rolled her eyes at our antics. When an hour was almost up, I told Lisa that I should head out and I can just ride a cab back to the shop. But she insisted to drive me back since she was the one who invited me anyway.
We said our goodbyes to the both of them and they went ahead together.
"I don't wanna be rude, but Jisoo and Rosie isn't together? Like, how come?" I asked.
Lisa looked at me before laughing, "You noticed huh?"
"I mean they act like couples,"
"Everyone around us notices. Only Jisoo doesn't. Rosie have been crushing over her since they we all met in college. Jisoo's just too dumb to notice."
"Oh wow, but Jisoo and Jin were together for years?"
"And Rosie have been faking herself out,"
"That sucks," I said.
"It does."
We arrived in front of the shop and I went out of her car while Lisa followed with this stupid smile in her face. I laughed at her, "Thanks for lunch."
"My pleasure," she smiled, "Heard from one of your co-workers you don't usually eat out. So, did you enjoy?"
I rolled my eyes, "My co-workers are idiots." I said and we both laughed.
"If it helps, I don't usually do this but, yeah. I did enjoy." I said.
