Two days later, Blue was still soundly asleep. Giyuu was on his guard day and night, making sure that no demons came close to the house. He cared about nothing else but keeping Blue protected. He knew it best that Blue got as much sleep as possible. Since the fight in the village, Blue physically lost a lot of energy. He could see her movement become slower and the bags under her eyes grew darker as they ate at the restaurant. He wondered if there was a limit to Blue's power.
The longer he thought about it the more he began to worry about how the hashira's would react when realizing Blue was a half-breed. He knew for a fact that they would not react happily or welcome her with open arms. The two he worried about most were the Wind and Serpent hashira, maybe even the Insect hashira.
He feared that maybe the hashiras would overreact and possibly harm Blue even before her innocence was proven. He shivered at the thought of her limp body in a pool of her blood. The open wound on her neck was lost in the red liquid as her body went cold and her face went pale.
He shook the thoughts out of his head. Thinking things like that would only affect him even more. He knew at some point he had to get Blue go and continue with his missions, but for some reason, he wasn't ready to do that.

When Blue opened her eyes, all she saw was darkness. The air was chilly and it was dead silent. At first, it scared her. She was confused. She gently sat herself up and rubbed her eyes. She looked around. There was nothing but pitch black around her.
Her left side felt numb from her laying on it. As she looked around, Blue became worried when she didn't see Giyuu anywhere. What happened? Where was she? Was she kidnapped by a demon? Where was Giyuu?
A sudden wave of warm air flew over her body. Her skin was no longer cold and she no longer felt alone. She recognized this presence. She knew it somehow. Everything about it felt so familiar.
"Who would have thought that you would end up in a life like this?"
That voice. The voice of the female was like an angel sent from heaven. It was so sweet and so calming. Just the sound of it made Blue feel safe. As she turned her upper body towards where she heard the voice, she saw a woman sitting behind her as she was illuminated by a soft white aura.
The woman sat cross legged. Her long wavy dirty blonde hair reached the middle of her back. Her skin looked clean and smooth. She wore a silky white dress that hung over her body with much grace. Because the woman was facing away from Blue, she could not see her face. But she didn't need to see it to know who exactly the woman was.
"Mom?"
Blue's voice broke the silence between them. Even though she couldn't see it, she felt the smile form on her mothers face. Blue moved her body slightly to face her mother a little better without hurting her back. "Am I dead?" She asked.
Blue's mother smiled more and chuckled quietly while shaking her head. "No, silly. You're not dead." Blue looks down at her knees before looking to the side again. "What happened?"
"Well, after you found mine, your fathers, and your brother and sisters body, you cried." Blue looked down at her knees again in the memory of seeing the graves. "Shortly after that you fell asleep." Her mother spoke softly. Blue sighed quietly.
Her mother sensed the guilt and sadness rising within her youngest daughter. "I want you to know that I am not mad about the decisions you've made." Blue's eyes widened at her mothers words soft, proud words. "You're not?" Blue asked in surprise. "No. Honey, why would I ever be mad at you for protecting yourself and others from Kibutsuji?" Blue's mother asked.
