Mate.

The word echoed in my head over and over again, like someone pressed replay on a your favorite song, now sounds like that brother, sister, or annoying friend that won't shut and you just want bang your head against a wall or find some thread and needle, superglue, or duck tape to get them to shut up.

For the past few days I've been going through the motion. No one seems to see trough my mask, well, almost everyone. What is a twin or a vampire partner good for when they no something is wrong, they worry. And the "I'm fine" or "it's okay" is not going to work with them. There is like nothing they do can break this slight trance I am in.

Until now.

"Uh, can you repeat that please? I know my hearing is as good as yours, but I think it's starting to fade." I said into my phone. Sitting on bed checking notification and updating a few chapters before I'm needed again in my line of work.

"Yes. I said: Would you and your sister like to watch or participate in a little game of baseball."

"Last I checked and I am double checking by staring out my window, it's supposed to be thunderstorm. And I know for a fact you guys don't use wooden bats, so your only choice to use aluminum. Nice to know your becoming lighting rod for your guys next department of this world."

"We've done this many times-"

"Huh, surprisingly none of your ash."

"I've wonder that myself a few times. But will you come?"

"I hope I don't have to do any vampire medical care, cause if you do get electrocuted and you eventually wake, I'm going to tell you what Christopher Titus's dad told his son; "Yeah, your not going to do that again, are you. Yes your eyebrows will grow back." But for you case it's more than just eyebrows and hair."

"No you won't have do any of that. And I assure you none of us will be struck by lightning."

There was a long pause between when I broke it with my answer. "I'll go and watch the soon to be vampire ash pile play lighting rod baseball."

"Edward will pick you and your sister up in a few. Be ready."

"Sir, yes, sir." I said lazily. "Bye."

"Bye." After hanging up, I quickly got ready in black denim jeans, black t-shirt, black long socks. I put my hair up in a ponytail. Packed a bag with few things my sister and I might need, along with an umbrella. Once done, I head downstairs with my computer and bag, where dad was cleaning his gun. I take the seat next to him and finish up those updates people want so much. What can I say, I type to please.

After that was done, I did some research on those three red eyed vampires. Going through all past history in the far country that have important holidays and still celebrate in now. Getting off on a great start only to feel like someone hit me with Mack truck, when Bella said, "I have a date with Edward Cullen."

Dad suddenly stop his cleaning on his gun looking like he was about to have an aneurysm. "He's too old for you."

"I whole heartedly agree. Gimme your cuffs and I'll arrest him whenever I see him." Dad huffed out a laugh, fist pump across the table.

"We're both juniors. I thought you liked the Cullens." She said.

"And I thought you weren't interested in an of the boys in town."

"He got a point." Bella glared at me and went back to talking to dad. "Edward doesn't live in town. And it's in the early stage- whatever, he's outside right now."
