Baseball in a Thunderstorm

"Now?" Dad and I said simultaneously. "He's out there?" Dad finished.

"He want to meet you. Officially."

"Good." He cocked the rifle in mock-seriousness as I laugh and close my computer. "Be nice, okay? He's....important." Dad draws an imaginary halo around his head. She gave me a stern glare, I gave her my best innocent look. She walks away mumbling under her breath that we're both impossible. Dad and I exchange mischievous glances, it took so much for us not to burst out laughing.

Bella brings Edward into the dinning room, as dad stands up to meet them. "Chief Swan. I wanted to formally introduced myself. I'm Edward Cullen." Edward introduced.

Dad and Edward shake hands. I leave them to grab my coat and put on my converses. Walking up behind the two couple. Dad took the hint that I was going to supervise, but only new the other half was to have double date with father who put this on. Either way if it fails or if it's a success it's going to be entertaining.

We pull up to a clearing that looks it's been used before. Everyone is wearing baseball related clothes. In the distance I can see Jasper spin his bat, and it seems his mood has improved in the last couple of days.

Before we could head over to the rest of the family I stopped Bella. "Here, hold still." As I sprayed a few on her. "What are you doing?" She asked slapping my arm away. I hold up what looks like clear perfume bottle. "This is a potion I made for you. Spray this on yourself and your scent will be non-existent. The effects last 24 hours so I suggest applying it everyday, so not to distract the Cullen's. Also there is a spell on it, once you spray it, it refills on itself." Hell even I have one for myself for purposes like this but my sent doesn't call for their zinger like Bella's does to Edward.

She looked shocked. Unsure what to say. "You don't have to say nothing. Consider this your an early Christmas present." I said, placing it in my bag. When Edward came around he looked relaxed and comfortable to be around Bella. I gave them some space and went on ahead of them. Half way across the clearing, Carlisle escorted me the rest of the way, looking very excited.

"Wipe that smirk off your face you look ridiculous." I said walking towards the rest of the crowd with my sister and Edward already there. The clouds gather in the sky the thunder echoed all around us. Alice who is on the Pitcher's Mound smiles up at the sky's then back at us. "It's time." She sang. As a deep rumble of thunder shakes the forest.

Bella took the umpire position with Esme behind her to help her. It was Carlisle, Jasper, and Rosalie vs Emmet, Alice, and Edward. While D and I stand by the cars and watch the blonds vs the brunette's. "Why don't you play?" I asked as Rosalie smashed the ball with the metal bat. It cracks like thunder following by real thunder. The ball shoots like a meteor deep into the forest, rocketing through the trees with Edward chasing after it. " I find it enjoyable to watch than participate. I never could get into sports even with all the rules." D answered after a time. " I will have to agree with you there."

Rosalie darts around the bases, almost a blur. The ball comes out of the woods. Esme catches it few seconds before Rosalie slides in.

"Yer out?" Bella said. Rosalie looked like she was going to murder my other half, but walked away.

Carlisle was up next. He hits a line drive. Edward and Emmett race for it, jumping only to collide into each other. Making Carlisle safe. Jasper whacks in into the forest. Before anyone could go after it. "Stop!" Alice gasps. "I didn't see them."

Everyone gathers around home base. I stood beside Carlisle to feel more safe. I hate it when you can actually feel when the tension of danger come into play when everyone is having so much fun. One of the reason why training they either tell or you figure it out to never drop your guard. 'Cause you never know who is friend or foe, even when looks can be deceiving. It's a shame all people or supernatural don't carry a sign saying "Dangerous", "Safe" or "Dumb"

Carlisle places his hands on her shoulders. "What is it, Alice? What do you see?"

Bella looked at the family with confused looks. I walked towards her side and whispered, "nomads. Human feeder vampires. Some are good, okay, and they 'res just those you gotta stay away from."

"That's these? The third one?"

"Yep." I said, having my magic at the ready, but not enough to show. "Good news, they can't smell you. The bad news, they can still tell your human. So just stay close to us."

From the foggy distance I see movement in the trees, and there are three of them. Once they were edge I could see them clearly. One female with red hair, dark skinned and appears to be the leader. The other with blond hair. Three things they all have in common are bare feet, dirty from the forest, and they all had red eyes. Though I can't say for sure about the blond, both eyes look entirely black.

Once they were in front of us, the leader hold up the baseball. "I believe this belong to you." He said. Tossed it to Carlisle, though it looked like a blur to a human. "Than you." Carlisle said with a polite smile.

"Could you use three more players?" He asked.

"Of course."

"I'm Laurent." He introduced. Then pointed at the red headed female vampire. "This is Victoria. And James." Finally to the blond. While they negotiate, I'm trying to come up with a plan to get Bella out of here without being seen by the nomads. Teleport when their not watching, yeah that would work, but one of them would be a tracker or scout. So they'd be hard tp get around.

No sooner did I see it, James had sprinted towards Bella. It would be to late for the Cullen's to anything, but not for me. I flicked him in the forehead, the magic behind that one flick, waves of blue and red erupted, sending James in the opposite way he and his coven came from.

The Cullens formed a protective circle around us, not showing an ounce of surprise. But the nomads faces were priceless. They looked between us and the forest, trying to figure out what just happened. The answer flashes in the leaders eyes, and shows respect. I could feel him comparing my sister and I coming up with the conclusion that we are siblings.

"We won't harm her." He said trying to defuse the tension.

"I think it best if you leave." Carlisle said.

"Yes, I can see the game is over. We'll go now, and collect James." Watching them disappear into the woods. Once gone, Esme and D immediately gather up the bats.

"Get Bella and Sage out of here. We'll follow them." Carlisle ordered. He, Jasper and an unhappy Rosalie race off after them. I run to the jeep and got situated. And prepared myself for what is about to come. Why can't anything be normal in my life.

* I'll just full warn you guys. I don't know when I'll be able to update this summer, 'cause I have to help do things my grandparents. So just bare with me.
