You blink, finding yourself in a black marbled room. A sign on the wall in front of you reads, "You are a SURVIVOR" in big green letters. Below that it says, "Your job is to eliminate the Evil Team and find the murderer!"
"Murderer?" You think. "N-not a real murderer.. right?"
You spawn sitting on a stump in a dark forest. There are other stumps arranged in a circle with other people sitting on them, looking just as confused. There's a lit fireplace in the middle, and two cabins to the left.
There are lamplights lining the whole camp, which looks very big judging by how many lights there are.
You realize there's a pen and a spiral notebook on your lap titled "Y/N's journal." You pick it up and begin to write.Day 1
I am a survivor. There's a lot of other people here. Some of them must know eachother, as they're talking. Some of them are writing in their diaries, like me.
Apparently, I have to eliminate the "Evil Team." All I'm planning to do is stay alive!A short girl with red hair and a black dress runs up to you.
"Hi! I'm Ruby!" she chirps. "Are you a survivor?"
You nod.
"Me too! My friends aren't playing right now, so let's stick together, okay?" she declares.
"Playing?" you echo.
"Do you not know?" she asks, with a hint of sassiness to her voice. "This is just a game. Four recovers you after the game if you die, and if you die while the game's still going, you get to spectate as a ghost!" she squeals.
"Maybe this won't be so bad," you think. "Since I won't actually die."
"And there's even a chance you'll be recovered during the game by the Savior!" she continues. "You just have to get on their good side."
"Do you know who the Savior is?" You ask Ruby.
"Nope! Do you?" she asks with a smile on her face.
You shake your head.
"Oh," she mutters. "Well! We can find out together."flick..flick..
The lights suddenly begin to flicker.
"W - what happened to the lights?" You ask yourself, your voice wavering.
The rest of the group was confused, aside from some others. They must have played this before.flick..flick...
CLICK!
POWER DISCONNECTED..
You begin to panic. The lights have given out.
"Ruby!" you shout, the end of your cry curling up with a squeaky hint of fear. "RUBY!""I'm right here, you dork," she giggles. "I realized I never asked you your name."
"I-It's Y/N," you stutter, still stunned by the sudden power outage.
"Oh, calm down. If you die, I'll avenge you!" she whispers, determination flowing through her voice. You giggle quietly.
"C'mon," she says, grabbing your hand. Ruby begins to lead you to the cabins, but as soon as Ruby opens the door of your cabin, the lights flicker again.flick..flick..
"Is the power turning back on?" You think.
flick..flick..
CLICK!
POWER RECONNECTED!
You sigh in relief.
"I'm glad nothing bad happened to us, Ruby!" You chirp.
"I-I couldn't say the same for Book," she mutters in horror.
You look in the same direction Ruby is and you see a terrible sight.
Book's eyes have been stabbed out and are now lying beside her, and she was also stabbed in the chest with a knife.
Her dead body is laying in the middle of the cabin in a pool of blood, her mouth stuck in an eternal wordless scream.
Your stomach lurches and you look in the other direction, but Ruby steps forward and grabs Book's bloodied, shattered glasses. She folds them up and steps back out.
"L-let's alert everyone," she mutters.
You nod.. . .
Soon everyone is sitting by the lit fire. It's the evening at this time, and the sunset is absolutely wonderful.
Someone with light caramel hair in a messy bun is sitting with a blue and green spiral notebook in their hands, and they're looking through it vigorously.
"That must be Book's journal," you think.
They soon sigh and close the notebook. "Ruby, you said Book died. Correct?" they ask.
"Yes," Ruby confirms.
"Well, the only thing she wrote in her diary was 'I am a survivor.' So whoever killed her, you killed an innocent survivor." They said, glaring straight into everyone's eyes.
"Before we start tonight's investigation, I am Paintbrush, your detective. I'm on the good team this time."
You quickly and quietly grab your diary and jot down,Paintbrush is the detective. It'd be good if I could gain their trust.
You put it back down beside you and return your attention back to Paintbrush.
"Does anyone have any accusations?" Paintbrush asks.
A girl with bright green hair in a ponytail raises her hand. "I accuse Lollipop." she states clearly.
The girl that you assume to be Lollipop rolls her eyes. "Why would I kill Book? Book, of all people, is the person you expect me to kill first?"
"Leafy, do you have any proof?" Paintbrush asks.
Leafy nods. "Lollipop doesn't treat Book like she cares about her, and she always makes fun of Book too."
"And that's a reason to murder someone." Lollipop replies with a scowl. "Mhm."
Paintbrush writes something down in their notebook, and then turns to Lollipop. "Any accusations from you, Lollipop?"
"I accuse Leafy." Lollipop replies with a smug smile on her face.
"What?! Why me?!" Leafy barks.
"Proof?" Paintbrush asks, writing something down in their notebook.
"Leafy has a tendency to kill people," Lollipop begins. "She also can become evil quite easily."
"Mhm," Paintbrush replies, still writing. "Any other accusations?"
Nobody raises a hand.
"This isn't exactly proof," you hear someone whisper.
"Okay," Paintbrush begins. "Our nominees are Lollipop and Leafy. Votes to eliminate Lollipop?"
Leafy raises her hand, but she's the only one.
"One," Paintbrush winced, marking something in their notebook. "Votes to eliminate Leafy?"
Lollipop, and an orange haired kid raised their hands.
"Firey..? You don't really think I killed her.. do you?"
The person you assume to be Firey shrugged. "You do have a tendency to kill people," he winced.
You see small tears well in Leafy's eyes.
"Journal," Paintbrush said. Leafy handed Paintbrush a forest green spiral notebook. "Thanks for playing, Leafy."
Leafy nodded, tears beginning to run down her face.
"X?" Paintbrush asked.
A short, yellow haired boy snapped his fingers, and Leafy disappeared immediately.
Ruby must have seen your shock, because she whispered, "She turned into a ghost. She'll be fine." You sigh in relief.
"Everyone, back to your cabins," Paintbrush said, waving a hand in dismissal, reading Leafy's notebook.
"We're sticking together, right?" Ruby asked, grabbing your hand.
"Of course," you reply.
