Hey! So this is the scene where Nat and Steve are walking to Peter's apartment. It was going to be in the actual chapter, but it doesn't fit the tone that well, it's kinda awkward and sudden, and I was worried I was just adding it in to be self-indulgent. So, I'm adding it here as a Chapter 2.5 extended scene! You can choose whether or not this is canon, it won't affect the story in any way unless enough people want it to. Thanks, and enjoy!
"So, what's our cover story this time?" Steve asked Nat as they walked to Peters's apartment, and she gave him a smile.
"We could do your favorite." She grinned as he raised his brow. "We could be a loving, married couple, use some PDA to make people uncomfortable."
Steve blushed and look away. "That makes me uncomfortable."
"I know." Nat winked and then laughed. "Don't worry, I'm just teasing."
Steve was silent and stared straight ahead. Finally, he swallowed and said, "Y'know...we don't have to pretend."
Nat gave him a confused look, her heart pounding.
"Being a married couple. We could...actually do that, if you want?"
"Are you- are you proposing to me?!" Natasha sputtered, stopping in the middle of the sidewalk.
Steve finally looked at her, staring straight into her eyes. "I am. Let's get married, Nat."
She bit her lip and looked down at the ground. "Tony wouldn't be too happy to receive a wedding invitation right now."
"I can wait." Steve immediately said.
Natasha looked back up at him and slowly nodded. "Ok."
"Ok?"
"Ok." She grinned, nodding her head. Steve laughed and grabbed her hand, swinging it as they started walking again. "Anyways, back to the cover story. . ."
. . .So, yeah! Super short extended scene, lol. This is like the only non-canon ship that I ship lol. I just like them :3
Thanks!
