Beomgyu just watched random videos on YouTube, watched movies too, listened to music all day. Now, currently 8 pm. He's just reading a random book that first caught his eyes on the stack of books Ryujin prepared. The book he was reading was 'The Letters' by Hyeon A Cho.

Suddenly someone came to the room that made Beomgyu stopped from reading.

"Hey." He greeted and put down the book he was holding.

"Hey. So were you bored?" She chuckled and put down her bag.

"Not really. I was reading this book called 'The Letters'. I'm enjoying it." He picked up the book and showed it to her.

"Ah yes, this." Ryujin sat down on her bed."But hold up, I need to change." She dashed inside the bathroom as he just shrugged and went back to reading.

...

"So, what did you do all day here?" She asked as she also jumped on her bed, Beomgyu almost bouncing off the bed.

"Just watched videos on YouTube, but I mainly focused on this book here." He approached the girl and gave her the book.

"This is one of my faves too. Glad you enjoyed it. Did you finish it already?" Ryujin asked him.

"Not yet." He answered.

"Well then, let's read it together." Ryujin leaned her back on the headboard of her bed and asked Beomgyu to sit beside her.

"I want to ask how did your day went first." Beomgyu said.

"Oh, nothing much. Surprisingly, Mr. Park didn't give any homework for this week. But we do have a test on Science again next week. Other than that, it's all quite normal." She shrugged and looked at him. But diverted her eyes to his arms as he quickly hid them behind him.

"What was that?" She asked him eyes widen.

"Nothing." He stepped back but Ryujin didn't buy it.

"Give me your arm." She ordered as he just shook his head.

"Beomgyu." She called looking directly at his eyes. He sighed and finally showed her his arm.

"What the hell happened?!" She shouted in shock and scanned his arm. "Where did you got this cut?" He took back his arm.

There was a cut on his arm that is revealing his inside stuffing.

"I was just-"

Ryujin left the room to get something and came back with a sewing kit.

"Let me fix that. Does it hurt?" She held it.

"Just a little bit, but it's really okay-"

"No, don't move." Ryujin lifted him up and placed him on her lap.

Beomgyu sighed and just let her do what she wants. He was just looking at her while she's sewing his arm and Ryujin noticed it.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked.

"N-nothing." He looked away.

"There. Done." She placed him back on her bed and put away the sewing kit.

"Does it feel okay?" She asked him as he nodded.

"I am never gonna leave you again." She pointed at him.

"Alright, let's continue this book now." Ryujin picked up the book and leaned her back on the bed again.

"Before that, how about the father-daughter hangout? How did it go?"

"Oh right, that." She bowed her head down to flip the book. "Well I- He didn't show up." She said it casually.

"What? What do you mean he didn't show up?" Beomgyu started walking towards her.

"He didn't come."

"Did you try calling him or something? Texted him perhaps?" Beomgyu questioned.

"I don't have his number."

"Your mom? Try to reschedule it like tomorrow, the other day. Try contacting your dad."

"My mom doesn't have it too. Just his old one." She answered. "We don't have contact with him."

Ryujin looked at him and saw him confused.

"He promised me, he would go back home on this date. He didn't say which year though. So obviously, I don't know the exact date too. I would wait every year for this day to come. Maybe, just maybe he would finally go back home to see me and do the father-daughter hang out he also promised me before he left when I was 5." She explained and smiled bitterly.

Beomgyu's heart dropped from the words that came out of her mouth. He saw her this morning, she looked so happy and excited and now she's all sad. She may be smiling but Beomgyu knows that that's not Ryujin's smile. That was a bitter one, the unlike Ryujin one.

"He left you at... 5?" He asked once again as she just nodded.

"I will wait. No matter how long. Because he promised us, he promised me. And I will hold onto that promise until the day that he will finally come back and hug me again as his daughter." Ryujin is trying her best to hold back her tears but Beomgyu noticed it. So he got closer to her and patted her fidgeting hand.

"It's okay. I'm used to it. It has been 13 years. I should be used to this." She spoke and wiped her tears.

"I'm sorry. I'm so dramatic." She slightly chuckled.

"You aren't. It's alright. Let it all out." He softly spoke and looked at her.

He was debating whether he would do what his mind is trying to make him do. But at the end of the day, he scooted more closer to her and hugged her with his teddy bear arms that made Ryujin looked at him.

"What are you doing?"

"Comforting. I'm not so good at this but I hope it can make you feel better." Beomgyu said not sparing a look at her.

She smiled at him and gently patted his back. "Thank you."

Beomgyu felt really bad for her. He was even lost for words but he sure hopes that the hug will make her feel better in some way. Even though the hug wasn't really full because of his bear form, he wanted the hug to bring comfort to her. As what Beomgyu didn't know is, that's actually what Ryujin is feeling right now.
