~James~
It had been a few months after the first night with Hannah when she asked me to meet her for lunch. I kind of didn't want to go, but I figured it was fair. She'd been going to these parties with me for so long and we'd never really spent time together outside of the parties before, so it was only fair. When I walked inside I saw that she was already there.
I walked over and sat down, "What's up, Hannah?"
She gave me a small smile, "You like Rick."
I flinched like she punched me in the face because I felt like she punched me in the face, "I what?"
"You didn't know?" she asked me, genuinely confused, "I thought you used me on purpose to make him jealous because of Jonathan."
"I mean, I did use you," I said, getting more flustered by the minute, "Sorry about that, by the way. Um, but I didn't use you to make him jealous because I'm jealous about him having a shitty boyfriend. I just wanted to get back at him for being a stubborn jerk."
"Make him jealous because he has a boyfriend," she summarized incorrectly.
"No."
"When we go to parties you wait for him to show up. When he does you just drink and look miserable while everyone else has a good time. Once you're good and drunk we dance, but you never take your eyes off of him. If you're not doing all of that because you're jealous of Jonathan then I don't know why you'd do that."
I scoffed, "I'm not jealous of Jonathan The Dick. Besides, Rick is just using Jonathan to get over me."
Her eyes widened in understanding, "Oh, so you're mad that you had him and lost him."
"I am not gay," I said as I glared at her.
She shook her head and stood up, "Either way I'm not going to parties with you guys anymore."
Guess I just lost my girlfriend.
Fuck.
Once I got home I slumped on the couch and started to flip through the channels.
Soon Will flopped down beside me, "There's this party tonight. Wanna go?"
I shook my head without looking away from the tv, "Nah."
"Come on. You can bring Hannah," he said with a smirk as he nudged my shoulder.
"We broke up today."
His expression shifted, "That sucks, man. Wanna talk about it?"
"I'm not that upset about it," I shrugged.
"But it seemed like you really liked her."
"Did I? Or was it all a hoax for attention?"
Will froze, very thrown off by my shift in tone, "Um, I don't know."
I sighed, "Me neither."
"Okay, well," Will stood up, suddenly awkward, "if you change your mind just let me know."
I didn't notice as he rushed over to Lyn and told him it was time for plan B.
