Sophia - #1 in the ice series

"Come on, Sophia. Come with us to the bar. You've spent enough time with Kendall boy." Mackayla complains.

Landon shakes his head. "I'm literally right here."

"And does it look like I give two shits? And put on a shirt, will you? It's not like you have anything to show off anyway." Mackayla complains.

He laughs. "See, we've got a little problem there, I can't get out the bed with you here."

Mackayla makes a disgusted face. "You are so gross."

"I don't want to go to the bar, Mackayla," Sophia tells her again.

"But he won't be there. Ander is going to make sure he stays home. God, please go out with us. Everyone misses you so much. Especially Emma."

Sophia sighs. "Fine. I'll go."

"I'll go too then," Landon says and Mackayla rolls her eyes and leaves the room. "Make sure this nasty ex I keep hearing about doesn't show."

Its been three weeks since New Year's and Sophia had started her job, started her route to graduate early, successfully avoided Wade, and started seeing Landon more.

Sophia gets up and walks towards her closet and starts searching for something to wear. She freezes when she sees both Wade's sweatshirt and dress shirt she never gave back.

"Soph, did you hear me? I wanna come too."

"I heard you the first time." She says not turning around.

"Then you should've said something."

Sophia laughs. "Like what?" She pushes the two hangers away from her eyes and finds the perfect black jeans with a bright red top.

"Do you not want me to come?"

Sophia shrugs. "I never said that. But if Mackayla gives you a hard time, everyone else will."

"That's alright I just invite some of my friends like Wade. Remember him? You met him at the airport." He explains talking out his phone.

"Oh...Uhm, yeah, redhead guy, right?" She asks pretending like she doesn't care.

Landon chuckles. "Yeah, him."

Sophia goes into the bathroom and changes into her outfit and she does her makeup. When she comes out, Landon is dressed as well.

"You look nice." He tells her and she gives him a small smile. "That top is really bright though."

"Well, that's the whole point," Sophia tells him. "I wanna go to the bar alone if you don't mind? I need to go see someone."

"Yeah, I need to pick up Wade anyway since he said yes. I'll see you there." He kisses the side of her head before grabbing his keys and leaving.

Sophia waits a few more minutes before heading to the cemetery for the first time in what seems like forever.

When she gets to her dad's headstone she sits down and she can feel him yelling at her for no reason. Why would he be mad that she left Wade? It makes no sense.

She ignores the gut feeling her dad put in her stomach, changes the flowers, puts in new ones, and heads to the bar.

When she gets there, Landon is already there meaning the rest of the group is,

Meaning Wade is too.

She takes a moment outside before pulling the door open and the first person she's greeted by is Emma and Marie.

"Hey, princess!" She smiles at her. "Oh my, have you grown since the last time I saw you?" Emma giggles and smiles.

"Here, do you wanna hold her?" Marie asks her. "I need to go to the bathroom anyway."
