Iwaizumi walked into the bathroom to see Matsukawa making out with Hanamaki. He would've left but in all his built up anger he really needed to pee.
Matsukawa stopped frenching Makki and turned to where Iwaizumi had locked himself in a stall.
"So...Iwa, You talk to Oikawa?"
"Mhm." Matsukawa sighed at the short, and not very explanatory, response. Fully detaching himself from his boyfriend so he could immerse himself into the conversation more.
"Whatd'ya talk about, hm?" Mattsun was hoping the old captain and vice captain had made up so they could all hang out like they used to. It was a stretch but he was never too old to dream.
"Just stuff, I apologised-" Iwaizumi flushed the toilet and made sure he was presentable before leaving the stall and shooing The couple away from the sinks so he could wash his hands, continuing to speak as he did.
"-I punched Ushijima in the face."
"Woah, hold on, you what?! And I wasn't even there to see it!! Man I've been dreaming of seeing that happen for so long now!" Matsukawa pouted at Iwaizumi, sulking as Hanamaki put a hand on his shoulder.
"To be honest, we all have." The pinky-brown haired man spoke finally, eyes staying on the back of his boyfriends head.
Iwaizumi finished drying off his hands and turned to the two fully.
"How long has that whole thing been going on?"
"Well firstly, how much do you know?" Iwaizumi hesitated for a moment, thinking about the events that had just unfolded, thinking about how Oikawa drank like there was no tomorrow, how he wasn't the same anymore.
"Well it's obvious he's mistreating Oikawa, and it's obvious he's unfaithful with the way he danced with some other person."
"Yeah, I'd stay out of it." Hanamaki nodded his head in agreement, fist-bumping Mattsun from over the mans shoulder.
"Stay out of it??"
"Yeah, listen, Toru is not the same person you used to know, there's just a lot of shit going on with him right now and crowding him about it is just gonna make it worse. You can't understand him like he needs you to because you don't know him anymore. So, get to know him better, earn his trust back and then do something if you feel that you absolutely must."
Iwaizumi didn't respond, he knew Matsukawa was right.
...
But on the other hand, he had already punched Ushijima in the face. Doesn't that make him involved?
Plus, he knew it was going to take a long while to get Oikawa to trust him again, the man had never trusted easily anyway.
Thinking about all the different ways he could sliver back into Oikawa's life and get rid of Ushijima at the same time made Iwaizumi's head hurt.
The hurting of his head must've triggered some nervous system domino effect because he could suddenly also feel the pain in his fist from when he punched Ushijima.
In fact, he felt the pain in his whole body.
That's just what Oikawa did to people.
The brunette would experience all his pain in waves then, subconsciously, project it onto other people, wether that was mentally or physically, or even both.
But obviously, Iwaizumi wasn't aware of Oikawa's pain projector beam, currently, he only wanted to be closer to the man.
