"I didn't say anything" I reply
When she leaves, I start to put the dishes up until I glance at an unboxed box. I stared at it for a long second. I keep wondering what's in the box. Before I move myself into opening it, I clean the dishes, grab my coat and start for the door.
The air outside is cold but refreshing. I am wearing my black and red coat I received from the lab for training. I have a sudden urge to get a view of the city; so I look for a great building to scale. I see a perfect building to climb but it seems to have some distance to it. (better start now then) I think to myself. I pace myself to save energy before I climb.
When I arrive I look for the best route up the building. At Least it wasn't a hospital, I have a bad history with them. I injured my leg trying to get out of that building. At that time my mom was sick and she needed medicine; that was the only way I saw a way to help. I find my way up to a ledge that leads to a balcony that I can take to the top of the building.
I can see the whole city from where I stand. I sit at the edge of the ledge, looking at the city. I wish I could see my house from here, but I am too far from home. I would like to see my siblings, mom, shadow, my room, my bed. I start to daydream of home, life working to support mom and my siblings. I can't wait to see them after I am done. If I get done.
I door slams open from behind me sending people dressed in black with ak's searching with a thermal view and a green laser. I don't think twice; I run behind a nearby ventilation box. I look for a way off the building. I see a ledge to another building. I start to run, but troops get in the way pointing their guns straight at me. I can't think of a way out.
One of the troops run at me, I guess trying to hit me with his gun. I duck at his effort tripping him into the ventilation box. I glance to see if he gets up, but he's out cold. I'm surrounded, I don't see a way out, yet.
I run towards a troop, but my effort is to fake his intention to open a chance for me to run a wall off the building. It happened in a blur, I get shot before getting to the wall. I feel a great pain in my right arm. HE SHOT ME!
I can feel the wet thick liquid dripping from the wound, but adrenaline had also become a role in why I still keep moving. I stand, holding my wound. I need this building. I look for the best way off this building. I'm too far up to jump. I look toward the door that they came up here from.
(I hope this is a good choice) I think to myself. I run towards the door, grabbing the door as I enter the stairway. I look to the axe rack so I can hold the door shut, But it isn't there. I start down the stairwell as fast as I can. I don't look up to see if they are behind me, I just run. I stop at the first door looking at several black masked gunmen waiting for me to exit this door so they can fill me with bullets. A plan hits me.
I head back up to the second floor. Seeing a gunman heading down the stairs; I run through the second floor corridor pushing the closest desk in front of the door to hold it for a minute while I find a way out of this place.
I look around the floor I'm on for a fire escape or a door that leads to a different exit. But they were all locked from the other side. I see an open sewer lid outside the building. I can escape through there and exit somewhere else. I grab the closest chair and throw it at the window. The chair hit the window shattering the whole glass window and hitting the ground with a ringing sound from what seems to be from the metal legs of the chair. I step back for some running room. As I begin to jump, the door slams open; I hit the ground and I start toward the tunnels. Before I get to the tunnels, I feel a sharp pain in my leg. A man stands between me and my escape. Were about 15ft away from each other. As I keep on my knee, holding my wound, I pull out a knife I had kept in the sole of my boot. Watching for a perfect shot to take. My escape is important to me, but not as important as to take another man's life. I think quickly and throw at shoulder being sure to not miss.feeling a great burst of energy from what seems to be my adrenaline. I run toward the tunnels as I hear troops marching toward the scene.
I run as fast as I can through the sewer tunnels being sure not to touch the metal tube surfaces or stop for a rest. I run till I no longer hear rushing footsteps rustling through the sewer water. I exit the closest sewer tap closing the cover back over the hole. I'm unfamiliar with the area I escaped to. I'm being toward high rises and skyscrapers. I look down at my wound to see it completely missing. I searched around my leg for it, but couldn't find it. I feel a slight pain, like having your ankle being pressed against something stiff and solid. I look to find a deformed bullet inside of my shoe. The only trace there was any injury at all was the sight of blood.
I stayed hidden for a couple hours ensuring I wasn't followed before I returned to my apartment. Returning to my complex I receive a tendency to look over corners of backstreet alleys, door entrances, groups of people staggering down walkways, and even over my own shoulders.
