More Than Enough (MxM Short Story)

The next morning, Dan woke up to the smell of pancakes. He forcibly got up from the couch and looked at the kitchen, in which Emma and Cameron were making pancakes. Dan walked over to them and gave them a polite wave. "Good morning sleepy head." Cameron said, getting an eye roll from Dan.

"What are you guys making?" Dan asked, tiredness in his voice.

"Pancakes, some eggs, and bacon. The basic unhealthy breakfast." Emma said to Dan, handing him a plate of all three almost on cue.

When Dan went to go sit down at the table, something caught him off guard. At the table, Renae, Archie, and Corey were talking to each other. Maybe Corey was starting to get comfortable.

Dan sat down and Corey's turned to look at him, giving a small smile. Dan smiled back, Renae noticing, immediately jumping to conclusions. (Me) "How is everybody today?" Dan asked.

"Doing fantastic. Enjoying it a lot out here." Renae said, looking at Emma.

"It is tranquil." That is all Archie said, which made Dan laugh.

Corey didn't answer with words, but rather a very shy nod. He was still nervous, Dan could tell. Dan caught a glimpse of those eyes again. Only for a second. He could spend a whole eternity staring at those eyes. Listening to that voice.

As Dan spaced out, Archie snapped his fingers in his face. "Earth to Dan?"

Dan snapped back into reality, looking flushed. "Sorry." was all he could say, making Renae chuckle.

Emma walked over to the table with more eggs and pancakes. "We are out of bacon but have the rest of the pancakes and eggs. Me and Cameron are full." Everyone nodded before Emma pulled a hand behind her back out. "And this Renae is for you."

Emma handed her a piece of bacon, and Renae went red like a tomato. "I- Thank you so much!" She said with a nervous smile.

Emma pat her on the shoulder and walked back to Cameron. Everyone gave her a smug smile and she started laughing. "What is it?" She said embarrassed.

Dan and Archie started laughing, while Corey gave her a supportive thumbs up. Dan noticed. God that was cute. Wait what??? Why do I keep thinking these things???

Everyone finished the last of the food before Dan went to go change into normal clothes in the bathroom from his pajamas. Today he decided to wear an auburn turtleneck with a black blazer, and some black skinny jeans, with some blue vans. He figured today he might look a little nice. He didn't know why.

In the bathroom, Dan thought about Corey and his relationship with him.  They only met a day ago, and Dan keeps getting weird feelings for him. Now he might be questioning his sexuality. As he looked in the mirror, Dan thought to himself.

I've dated women before, and I've loved it. I definitely like women. But I've never felt this way looking at a guy. Maybe it's the heat? Or the excitement? Either way, I might have to distance myself from Corey. Just in case I don't do anything stupid. Maybe I'm just desperate.

Dan finished his mental conversation and decided it would be better to give Corey some space. The poor guy is probably nervous enough as it is. Dan walked out of the bathroom and everyone saw his outfit. Renae got up from her chair and gasped. "Damn Dan!! You look hot!!"

Dan felt his face get hot. He wasn't used to supporting comments from friends. He'd only known these guys for a day, but they were all definitely friends. It was sweet that it was nothing but positive in this house. It was refreshing. Bad memories of people picking on him at school began to fill his mind.

"Yo guys!" Cam said, holding a bunch of horseshoes.

"Oh no, you didn't!" Archie yelled.

"So how the game works is you try to land the inside of the horseshoe as close to the pole as you can. Closest scores. Simple?" Cameron explained.

"Let's pick teams, I'll-" Renae began to say.

"I'LL BE WITH RENAE!" Emma said, way too fast.

Renae smiled and gave her a wink, as they had chosen their teams. "Can you guys please just fuck already?" Archie says, making everyone but them laugh.

The two look at each other awkwardly and laugh it off. "I'll be with Corey! He seems like he would be good at this." Archie pipes in, and Corey smiles.

Dan feels his heartbreak a little, but it quickly fixes when he remembers that he is on Cameron's team. Those two were horseshoe masters. Nothing could beat them when they were drunk. Sober, however? Maybe not.

"Let the games begin! Us versus Renae and Emma!" Says Cameron, as Dan feels his confidence spike up.

The game goes smoothly. They play to 7. Renae managed to score a point, but the other team had 7 by the time they were 9 turns in. While they were playing, Dan noticed Corey watching him awkwardly. Dan waved to him and gave a smile, but Corey looked away, probably nervous.

Next up it was Renae's team versus Archie's team. Corey managed to score, which got a few smiles out of him that made Dan's heart go into his throat. Emma and Renae had a few points on them, but Archie scored the winning point, which put Renae and Emma out of the competition.

Archie and Corey high-fived, which made a pang of jealousy go into Dan's heart. Why am I jealous? They are just friends. Even then, I don't care either way if they are friends or not-

"EARTH TO DAN!!!" Cameron snapped in his face, causing Dan to embarrass himself again.

He laughed it off but it was starting to become more frequent. Maybe he was starting to feel something...

After another win from Cameron and Dan's time, everybody decided it was time to call it quits, and head back on inside for another fun day.
