"Isn't he married to that redhead lady?" Harry asked as he controlled his laughter.

"First of all, her name is Pepper, and second of all, they're not even engaged," she replied with a matter-of-fact tone of voice.

"Obsessive," Gwen commented under her breath. As Harry snickered, Gwen jumped at the opportunity to make fun of him. "And why are you laughing, Mr. Natasha Romanoff?"

Iris let out a loud laugh, embarrassing Harry. He brushed it off in his typical bad boy style, but no one could deny the light blush coating his cheeks. And that left Iris suspicious.

Needless to say, Harry was a playboy. He'd left many girls at the steps of his door with mascara-stained cheeks and trembling lips, scorned and hating the thought of love. He'd never intentionally hurt someone, he was a genuinely nice guy, believe it or not. But with his drab view of relationships, none of them actually stuck.

So to think that Harry might've even had any thought about dating Gwen, Iris couldn't take it. Gwen was naive when it came to love, dating Flash Thompson in her freshman year before realising how much of an asshole he was. And Iris knew if Harry dated her and broke her heart, he broke the trio. He broke Gwen. He broke their trust. She wouldn't allow it to happen.

"You know what? I can't blame him. Natasha is so cool, I literally want to be her," Iris said with a mouthful of froyo.

"And you still claim to hate superheroes," Gwen quipped.

"I do!" Iris defended herself with a high-pitched voice. "They're the worst."

Her personal vendetta against superheroes stemmed from her father's car being absolutely destroyed by them, the situation only being saved by the fact that the Campbells had money. She still hadn't forgiven Thor, though she knew he didn't even know her.

"I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I might miss you two when I'm in the Bahamas," Harry said.

"As if," Iris rolled her eyes. "You'll be too busy basking in the sun with some gorgeous swimsuit model."

Harry contemplated it before nodding in agreement. "That's probably true," he shrugged.

The doorbell sounded with a decisive ding, echoing through the Osborn penthouse. Harry went down to get it, a mischievous grin appearing on his face as he left the two girls upstairs on their own.

"Basking in the sun with some swimsuit model?" Gwen questioned. "You really think he'll do that?"

"His dad's loaded, and he's attractive to some visually impaired people," she grimaced at herself.

Admitting that Harry was even close to being attractive would just boost his already very big ego, and even though the penthouse was bigger than hers and Gwen's combined, Harry had sharp ears. Additionally, she didn't like thinking of Harry in that way, and she wouldn't ever do it willingly. Her friends stayed friends, that was a rule she would never break.

Just then, Harry walked back in with a companion next to him. One Iris recognised very well from their interaction a week ago.

"I invited Pete, hope you guys don't mind," Harry took a seat with Peter giving them an awkward wave.

His eyes were set on Iris. After their interaction, he saw her in a completely new light. Sure, he used to have a crush on her, way back in the eighth grade, but he didn't actually know her. He only thought she was pretty. He'd expected her to be rude and moody when waking up in his bed, but surprisingly, she was kind and actually made an effort to talk to him. He never thought she could even be capable of that kind of emotion.
