I scribble In my notebook as I hear the door of my classroom open behind me. I feel everyone's eyes turn around but I continue to look at the notes in-front of me.
I would hate to be whoever Is walking in class right now. I zone out until I hear her voice.
"Um- I'm Atlas white." I've known most of these kids since kindergarten, that name, not one I recognize, I want to look at her but I didn't want to make her feel even more embarrassed. I would. "Sorry I couldn't find the class." She mumbles quietly, but I still heard.
A small smile makes it's way onto my lips for some reason. The teacher points her to a desk.... you guessed it. Right next to me. Shit. I'm already so awkward. Maybe it won't be bad?
Oh who am I kidding.
She sits next to me and I continue to stare at my desk, not wanting to look at her. But as I feel her eyes pierced on me I can't help but look up. She's looking me up and down and her mouths open slightly. I begin to do the same to her before her eyes shoot back up to mine and I swear I blush. I don't blush. Ever. Like it has literally never happened.
It left as quick as it came as she looked away and at the teacher as I kept my head down towards the desk. When I stand up I can tell she notices and her mouth goes slightly agape. I get that. I mean I'm 6'6. It's not unusual. When she stands I can tell she's tall too. Taller than most girls in my grade.

I walk into the cafeteria with my best friend James
And I almost immediately scan the room for her. I'm not sure why. I mean she was pretty, gorgeous even, but I barley got to look at her. I told James about the interaction after class of of course he teased me for it.I left the part out about me blushing because I know he'd have an absolute field day with that. James is kind of an asshole, but he's my best friend since we were 6, so I guess it doesn't really matter.
After scanning the room for a few seconds I find her sitting with another girl I don't recognize who is smirking at Atlas as she looks from me to her. I try to act like I don't notice but I'm pretty sure she knows I did.
Throughout lunch all I could think about was Atlas. Who was she? Who was that girl she was sitting with? Why is she here? How is she so goddamn pretty? I noticed her a little more during lunch. She's definitely tall, much taller than the girl I assume to be her friend she was sitting with, and she's damn good looking.
Seriously. I have never seen anyone so mesmerizing. She has this gorgeous dark curly hair, and she has good style. She likes baggy clothes, at-least today she does.As lunch is ending for me the seniors come rolling in and one who looks very similar walks to Atlas walks over to Atlas. I don't recognize him either. And like I said I've known pretty much all of these people since kindergarten, even if they were older than me. I walk past her and over hear the senior say "Hey little sis, Leah."
Oh. That makes sense.
I walk to my next class and soon after I sit down Atlas comes into the room. She sees the empty seat next to me and sits in it. Looking at me again. I blush again and I hear her giggle a little. That didn't help the blushing. "Hi" she says, "I'm Atlas."
I look to her, "Everette." I respond, not really knowing what to say to her.
A smile escapes her lips almost automatically sending one to mine as she looks back towards the front of the room when the teacher starts talking.
When the class ends I begin to walk out before I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around to face atlas. "Um hi Atlas" I say nervously.
"Hi Everette. So I was just wondering if you like wanted to be friends or something because I don't really know anyone here besides my brother and sister- and Leah, oh yeah and Leah is my best friend who told me to do this but I totally get if you don't want to And you probably think I'm weird now but-"
