.Day 8.
"Hand me your communication device, human." Peridot's voice cut through your ears as you woke up. It was the next day-- well, at least it felt like it-- and the first thing you woke up to was an impatient looking Peridot, holding out her fingers towards you.
"What? Why?" Your voice broke a bit as you answered, the tiredness slipping through. "It's dead, and I can't communicate with anyone."
"Just give it to me anyways."
You rolled your eyes, but handed her the device nonetheless. "Just don't break it, please."
She's nods subconsciously, staring at the device, before turning on her heel and towards her control room.
You huffed out a bit. After your phone had died, boredom completely took over. You had literally nothing else to do, and neither Peridot nor Jasper would let you out at all.
You leaned against the wall, mumbling to yourself for a while, until you heard Peridot's door open again, and soon enough she was in front of you. You stared up at her, blinking a few times as she just stood there.
"I.. I fixed your communication device." She quickly shoved her fingers which held your phone through the bars.
You raised an eyebrow at her, before reaching out and taking your phone. Low and behold, your phone was completely charged and unharmed. What the hell, that's actually kinda cool of her.
"What do you even do on that thing? Since it doesn't work as a communicator currently."
"Well, I have various games and stuff on here, plus I enjoy writing."
"'Games'? Why would you have such an unneeded function?"
"For entertainment? Life may not be all fun and games, but it can be sometimes. Especially sitting in the jail cell of an alien spaceship shaped like a hand." You shrug, earning a small chuckle from Peridot. Your head quickly shot up in her direction, and she quickly averted her gaze away from you.
"Was that a--"
"I'm not lying when I say I can and will throw you off this ship, you clod."
.Day 9.
The next day you woke up, Peridot was messing with your phone outside your cell. She was sitting cross legged on the ground, messing with the volume and the screen. You assumed she found one of your games, and was now hyper focused on completing it.
From what you had gathered, she was a techie alien. You wouldn't be surprised if she could figure it out well enough to beat whatever she had gotten into.
So you continued to watch her. She hadn't noticed you were awake yet, and you assumed that was because she was so focused.
Her face lit up occasionally as she beat various levels. It was... a new side of her. She looked like she was having fun.
"Oh come on!! I had that!" Peridot whined, and you involuntarily let out a laugh at her. "Gah! You're awake?!" Her face lit up in a darker shade of green, and she nearly slammed your phone on the ground. "I-I hadn't realized you were finished with your resting sequence!!"
You chuckled a bit and sat up, stretching your arms a bit. "Yeah? Too caught up with my phone, weren't you?"
"Stop talking!"
You only laughed, leaning up against the wall.
"How many times must I tell you that you are extremely infuriating, Y/n."
