I nod reluctantly. " I also may have told him not to date anybody else." I say embarrassed.

"You didn't." Paige says, shaking her head at me.

Annoying little sibling

"I did." I mutter.

"What'd Sinclaire say?" Leah asks.

"He said "wouldn't dream of it, love"

"He called you love?" They ask in unison.

I nod. "He also said I was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen."

Paige and Leah look at each other again. "Whipped." They say in unison again.

I roll my eyes again and Paige leaves, obviously satisfied with the information I gave her.

Leah stays smirking at me before I wave her off and she laughs. "You should tell him you like him."

"No."

"He likes you though."

He probably doesn't.

"We don't know that."

"Yes we do." She says.

"Whatever, i'll tell him eventually."

"It's only been like- 3  months. I don't want to rush anything."

"You aren't rushing anything by telling him you like him. Rushing things would be jumping his bones right now. Not that I'd blame you." She says.

"Leah!" I exclaim, hitting her with a pillow.

She laughs and starts getting ready to go to practice.

Leah plays volleyball. She always have, ever since we were kids in New York. We found a team here she can play on, and she has practice everyday after school.

I keep thinking about what she said. Should I tell him that I like him. Because I do. I really really do, but I don't know. I don't want to mess anything up by telling him.

"Look I'm not going to say you have to tell Sinclaire you've fallen for him. But as your best friend, I don't want to see you get hurt. That boy is head over heels for you. But if you don't tell him eventually he'll move on even if you haven't. I know you don't want to see him with anybody else, but if you never tell him what you're feeling, that's what's going to happen." Leah says before heading off to practice

Damnit she's right. I hate that she's always right.

It takes me a few hours, scratch that it takes me 5 hours, but eventually I muster up the courage to call Everette up the stairs.

He comes to my door and I gesture him to come inside. He walks into my room and sits on the edge of my bed, me curled up at the top.

"I have to tell you something." I say to him.

If this goes badly I'm blaming Leah.

"Please don't leave. When I tell you this, I mean."

"I'd never leave you, Atlas." He responds, looking confused.

"I like you a lot Everette. Way more than I should, I think. My life is hectic and crazy and when I moved here I said relationships would not be in the mix. And I don't want to rush into anything if it's not what you want. But I just, I needed to tell you. You deserve to know." I say.

I look down, not wanting to see the expression on his face.

I look up at him, a small smile on his face.
