"You okay, Rookie?" The girl asked while she crouched in front of the soaked new arrival who had her curls completely washed down, "I'm Ada and you're here with us in the Hub, I'm the one in charge here."
The girl sputtered a little as she was helped to her feet by the leader, "why can't I remember anything?" Her knees knocked together in a mix of her panic and adrenaline, it was then that she got a better look at those that were peering over the edge of the box down at her, there were not very many of them.
Ada closed her eyes for a moment in exasperation before she gestured for a few of the figures to help the Rookie out of the box, two of them grasped onto the new arrivals arms and pulled her out. Ada managed to get herself out of the box as she was much more put together than the new girl.
The two girls who had pulled her out seemed very different, one was a tall and lean girl with flaming red hair paired with the brightest pair of blue eyes that the newbie could ever remember seeing and she had a kind look on her face. The other had extremely long blonde hair, was a medium height, and her face seemed to be twisted into a near constant scowl.
Instead of focusing on the two girls for much longer, the Rookie's eyes moved to her surroundings and her breath was stolen from her throat. Towering sandstone walls surrounded a lush green field with sprawling trees that seemed to reach for beyond the sky, the walls had deep green vines falling down the edges and weaving through the cracks in the rock. "Wow," the Rookie's voice finally came back to her, "this place is beautiful." She was still turning on her heel, trying to take in everything that was being presented to her.
Some of the girls laughed while they listened to what the Rookie had said, the box had risen to the same height as the ground as the new arrival had been removed from inside and the supplies were now able to be grabbed. The leader clapped her hands once to ensure that she had everyone's full attention, "let's do introductions again."
The redhead who had helped her out of the box, the Rookie noticed that now she was closer she had an insane number of freckles, "I'm Kat!" The Rookie liked her.
Followed by a girl with dark skin, box braids and a muscular build, "I'm Harriet."
Then the girl with the long blonde hair, the scowl still hadn't faded, "Emmy."
Lastly, there was another amazingly tall girl with blonde hair who spoke up with her name, "Rosa." Her voice was tinged with an accent that the Rookie couldn't quite place, maybe it was because she couldn't actually remember any places outside of these four walls.
Rookie smiled at them all as she tried to introduce herself and attempted to reach for her own name, "I am..." She stammered a couple times before she furrowed her eyebrows because she was unable to remember her own name.
Kat smiled at her reassuringly, "don't worry if you can't remember it, it took Rosa almost three whole days!" Kat ducked when Rosa's arm swung at her head, the two of them laughed as Kat started running away from Rosa.
Ada sighed like she was wrangling monkeys instead of teenagers, she was about to speak when the Rookie suddenly cut her off, "my name's Alice." Alice's voice was clear and certain as she said her name, which had suddenly appeared in the forefront of her mind. Each of the girls looked surprised, it took them a lot longer than Alice to remember their own name. Harriet started jokingly clapping while she smiled, only stopping when Kat bumped their shoulders together.
Wind moved through the field, rustling the trees and disturbing the tarps scattered around, it also caused shivers to rise up on Alice's body. The clothes that she was wearing were still sticking to her body, she finally got a chance to look at them when she noticed how cold she was – she was wearing a black pair of trousers that were tight only at her waist and ankles, a cream long-sleeved shirt that had a hood attached, a pair of black lace up boots and under her cream shirt she had a purple tank top underneath. "Do you think I could change out of these clothes?" Alice asked Ada while they were pulling supplies out of the box and to elsewhere in the Hub.
