"I know you were just coping and I get it. I'm not mad at you for that. But I can't help that I get panic attacks Eli. I can't help that you all worry about me. I don't want you to but you've all made it clear that your going to anyway so the least you could do is not rub it in my face. Stop being an egotistical dick and get your shit together." I say to him seriously.
Zach and Eli stand there looking stunned, Ev with a look of amusement on his face.
I grab his hand as I pull him out of the room, him being the only person I want to see right now.
"That's my girl." He says, pulling me towards him by the waist.
I kiss him before walking downstairs, him following behind me. I sit on the couch where Paige and Leah are sitting.
"Are you and Eli good now?" Paige asks me.
"We will be." I say to her smiling. I'm angry with him right now but I can't stay mad at him forever.
Everette picks up Athena from the floor and puts her on his shoulders. She shriekes and he walks her around the house. She's up really high, Everette having to duck to keep her from hitting the ceilings fans.
Moms in the kitchen making dinner and dads at work as usual. Ever since we moved here he's been working so much, he works pretty much all day and night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~During dinner I pretty much ignored Eli, he looked really upset. I didn't mean to make him upset, I just wanted to get my point across.
"So, Atlas, how are things at school going?" My mom asks .
"They're going fine mom." I respond, not wanting to talk about school any further.
"What happened with that Bryce taylor boy Atlas?" I tense up. How does she know about that. I look over to Everette.
"How do you know about that?" I ask her.
"We got a call from his father. He said that his son came home black and blue and that Everette was the one who put his hands on him."
"Care to explain Everette?" She asks him.
"Mom, don't push him. He did what he had to do."
"What the hell does that mean Atlas?" She yells loudly. Everyone at the table is staring at me and Everette.
I feel tears well up. All I can see is his hands on me, trying to shove their way between my thighs.
"Atlas." She pushes.
"He tried to touch me. Okay?are you happy now?" Tears run down my face and I lift from my seat.
everyone's eyes widen.
"He pushed me up against a wall as he ran his hands up my body. I stopped him from touching me, he didn't do anything. But right as I did Everette walked outside and saw him holding my wrists. He did it for me okay?" I say back, tears falling.
My brothers both tense up. Everette does too.
"You didn't tell me all of that?" Everette says, his voice cracking in his throat.
"I know. I'm so sorry. I just didn't want to lose you. I can't lose you." He rushes over to me and him and Leah hug me tightly.
"It's alright, You aren't gonna lose me. You're okay." He says.
My mom stays silent for a moment.
"I'm sorry Atlas, and Everette, Thank you for defending my daughter." She says before walking out. She just fucking walked out. How is she not pissed? Why is she not raging that someone tried to hurt her daughter?
