Wilder and I were eager to get on with the wedding. Only weeks after his proposal I was marching down the aisle in a cream colored dress. We didn't want to go typical and a white dress wasn't my style. We ended up spending the week after our wedding at the remote cabin we had escaped to early on into our relationship if you could even call it that. I wasn't surprised when four weeks later we found out I was pregnant.
To say I was content would be an understatement. I was thrilled, and I had thought I never wanted kids.
Wilder was beyond thrilled at the news and had practically bed bound me for weeks. Anywhere he went I went, not that I had a choice, as he carried me around the house like a rag doll. We were inseparable.
A short 9 months late I gave birth to our little boy. He dug his way into our hearts without even trying.
I tried to convince Wilder that one kid would be more than enough responsibility. Less than 2 years later I was pregnant once again.
Our son, Eko, was just as happy as his father to add to our responsibility. Despite putting him to sleep every night in his own bed, he always managed to get into ours by morning time.
I was swaddled in a warm embrace, two large arms wrapped around my middle holding me close to a warm body, and a significantly smaller body was pressed to my front, protecting my stomach from any harm. The two boys in my life took care of me, and I wasn't complaining, only hoping for a girl this time.
"Mama?" I heard my boy calling to me. I pulled him into a tighter embrace. I hadn't started showing yet, but that never stopped him from running a hand over my stomach. I started to wonder if it was more soothing to him then it was supposed to be for me.
"Yes, baby?" I asked giving him a kiss on his head. He just hummed sleepily next to me and cuddled closer. How could I not be so happy in that very moment. It was one of the very few moments in life that I wanted to capture forever and never let go. Wilder groaned from behind me in his awakened state.
"Why is he in here?" He grumbled referring to our son. I glared at him and slapped his bare chest with the back of my hand.
"He wants to be in here with us." I said back while pulling him closer to me.
"I don't want to share." Wilder stated calmly before reaching around me and lifting our son from my arms. He left quickly before coming back to me and closing the door with a small click letting me know he had locked it.
"Mine now." He groaned in approval before approaching me slowly. I giggled imagining him prowling towards me. Just as he reached the end of the bed a sharp knock came upon the door.
"Breakfast!" I heard Zeke yell out before stomping away quickly. I laughed at his discomfort as he knew exactly what was going on behind closed doors. Wilder groaned and lifted me from the bed. We quickly threw on shorts and hoodies before making out decent to the kitchen.
Eko was already down there with Robin and Kat's kid, Avery. The adopted her shortly after we had Eko. They claimed that they would make the best of friends, more like partners in crime. I didn't have much family to go off from, but I knew cousins should be more like friends rather than siblings, I mean even siblings fight sometimes.
Zeke was slaving away at the stove making piles upon piles of pancakes. Willow, a very heavily pregnant Willow I may add, was sitting at the stool, gaze darting between the pancakes and Zeke's ass as he danced around the kitchen.
After our breakfast together we all went our separate ways. Avery and Eko went off to play in either one of their rooms and everyone else seemed to have disappeared, leaving Wilder and I the perfect escape.
"Let's go!" I wined pulling at Wilder's arm, trying to get him out the back door.
"Babe, what about the baby, I don't want to rough you up." He grumbled trying to resist giving me a ride to our infamous spot.
"I'll be okay and so will the baby, it's our anniversary, let's get out of here before anyone notices." I giggled mischievously.
"Fine, but I'm taking it slow." He grumbled before following me out. We set off on our slow jog to the waterfall. Upon arrival, we climbed up the ledge to the cave. It looked just as we left it which was a good sign. My painting supplies still lay strewn across the cave floor. Wilder chuckled and wrapped his arms tightly around my middle.
"You're quite the artist." He complimented, causing a hum in happiness to arise from my throat. I had gotten into painting over the past couple months, and it had really seemed to rid me of the lingering thoughts from my past. I hadn't had a flashback in over a year and a half.
"I have something to show you." I said before untangling myself from his arms. I ran to the small table and unveiled the magnificent painting I had been working on for months. It was a portrait of our family picture we had gotten just a year earlier.
"It's gorgeous." Wilder smiled as he inspected my handy work. When he was done, he spun me in his arms and kissed me hard.
"You are my forever and always." He smiled and kissed me once more.
"And you're, mine."
